born in the wrong era
    #11102273 -

Some times I think I was born in the wrong era. I wish I would have been a teenager in the sixties and not now. Today's society is so lame. All of our money is fake and already owed to someone else's $13 trillion debt. I didn't make that debt, so why should I have to suffer and pay for it (not that it will ever get paid off) There's no jobs around here, even with a college degree. At least in the sixties I could have dropped out of college, joined the counter culture and forget about materialistic needs of this fucked up society. I'm a hippie lost in a foreign land.

People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't
think that's what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an
experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely
physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and
reality, so we can actually feel the rapture of being alive.:flowerchild:

Yeah you would have had a good time but, then your counter culture would have sold out, with all of their ideals becoming lost and their drugs becoming illegal.  A bunch of your hippie friends would have gotten turned on to meth and maybe got you into it.  Been witness to your way of life turned into Pop culture and all that diy attitude of tie dying your own shirts and making your own clothes would become "cool".  You would have eventually lost motivation and become complacent and lazy.  Possibly homeless because you dropped out of college and did a bunch of drugs or just turned into your sell out fuckin parents who are now stuck in a cubical, in a suit, working 9 to 5.  i wish you lived in the sixties too.  you can have all the "cool" counter culture shit now if you want it, it will only be a little different.

Yeah I'd much rather be alive now than any other era.
It's easy to look back and see what you want to see. Any redeeming quality of the 60s that appeals to me can be found today.

In addition the biggest attraction to the 60s I find people to have (at least around here) is the progressive movements. The drug culture, civil rights, shit like that.
No reason civil activism needs to be limited to the 60s.

If you were born in the 60s, think about how shriveled up your balls would be by now.
