There are over 500 recipes for nutrified agar media. The question that you pose is more likely to start arguments than help you make a decision. It is purely a matter of opinion. Mycelium ether grows on it, or it doesn't.

The most used agar formulas are: Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), Dog Food Agar (DFA), Oatmeal Agar (OMA) and Malt Extract Agar (MEA).

There are people who will say that MEA is the ONLY nutrified agar that you should use. Then, there are just as many who will say that PDA is where it's at.

I say, try a handful and pick the one you like. OR, make up your own, (even though it's probably already out there).
