ID Please (India)

Hey, found these near college. They have a very psilocybian look. Please id...

Habitat: Found growing on manure in pots.

Gills: Purplish grey, with a fair amount of spacing.

Stem: Reddish...purplish...maroonish, hairy, with a distinct ring around the middle.

Cap: Brown or light maroon. Sometimes a little purple(the wet ones). They have a brown gelatinous layer in the middle. Smooth, turns dark blue on drying (Last picture)

Spore print: Purpilsh grey or purplish brown.

Bruising: It didn't really bruise... it just got wet when i broke the stem.

Location: Picked in Mumbai.

So you can see, as i said earlier, they have a few psilobian properties, especially the print. But they didn't bruise. Although a couple of dries ones(Bottom left of the last pic) were definitely inky blue.

It appears to be an inactive species of Psilocybe.  The apparent bluing appears to be a combination of blackish decay and spores.

Ohk... well its probably worth mentioning, a friend who came hunting with me went through some weird stuff later on... she said she saw bursts of color when she closed her eyes and was talking real funny, like she was doped or something. But then she's on medication for something, so it could be that...

After reviewing the scanty literature the closest match is Stropharia semiglobata, which has been reported in India.

Relevant pages from South Indian Agaricales by Natarajan and Raman, 1983.



Or Psilocybe (Hypholoma) guzmanii which is supposedly active.
