Hi there..  I'm on the border of Cobb and Cherokee Counties.  These were all found in my yard today.  I live in a woodland area on a creek.  No pines anywhere in my yard of a thousand trees.

I'm just curious as to what's out there.  It's been rainin' like the devil.  I'm a lurker to this site... 

I usually have a lot of mushrooms that look like pound cake that squirrels have been munching on.  I didn't have a single one in the yard today.  Oh well...  Here are the photos.  I'm numbering them.  There are many.  I hope that's ok.

Nice pics, but you need to make a proper ID request if you want good responses.  I know it's time-consuming but it really helps people ID your mushrooms.  See the sticky'd thread at the top of the hunting forum.

Nice pics, Most of them look to be Boletes.

But you really do need to go through the Id process

thanks for lookin..  most were really small, especially those last ones posted.  i didn't think to use a form of size reference. 

hopefully, i'll have a bigger variety of images to share after the sun comes out this week!  :smile:

thanks for the quick replies.  so for each one i should go thru the id process?  i guess i was just kind of throwing these out there to see if anyone knew off hand.  i'm about to head off to bed, but in the morning i'll pick and choose a few i'm more curious about.

I see some russula sp, bolete sp. and lots of other sp. If you want exact names you will have to do a PROPER ID REQUEST and not just post pictures :thumbup:

Ok, I didn't read that thing at all and I feel bad now that I just did.  So don't worry about any ID's.  I wasn't planning on eating any of these.  Well..  not unless I got super duper lucky, but whatever.  Hope you enjoy the pix..

1 & 3 until I get more info I'll go with Tylopilus badiceps
2, 7 & 8 Amanita sp.
4 Russula sp.
5, 6, 9 & 10 Boletus sp.
11-12 Russula sp.
13 Stereum ostrea
14 is probably Trametes gibbosa but need a pore shot.
15-16 LBM (little brown mushroom) probably a Inocybe
17-19 Russula sp.
20-23 Gymnopus subnudus

don't worry..  i know without a spore print and other details that these are educated guesses. 

these boletes..  there's this humongous thing just like that growing in my neighbor's yard.  this is what started me on my photographic journey today, even though i didn't get a picture of it.  i didn't want her thinking i was crazy (she already does a little bit), and she was outside when i walked back out with my camera.  lol  so i just walked around the yard.

that first big white pored bolete looks like a king bolete to me

i can't believe photobucket removed that pic of some random mushroom.

i have photoshopped images of Zappa on the toilet, shopped into a christmas scene, and that's ok... but a mushroom that happens to look like a man's dingdong is a violation?  LOL

Ok, so I saw these on my way back from the doctor...  I stopped to get gas, and these were propped up next to the gas station.  Thankfully, I carry my camera everywhere I go!  :smile:

Now I'm a little extra curious..  and I have a spore print in the works.  However, I'm posting b/c I'm a chick with very little patience.  lol

Ok, my first time using the image function, too.  I hope it works.





oops, and i forgot to add..

Habitat: pretty grass next to gas station

Gills: The gill color came off on my fingers blue, but has a purplish/brown color to it.

Stem: Tannish brown..  you can see it.

Cap: Brown/Tan.

Spore print color: Waiting on it.

Bruising: Slight bruising, but not what I would expect, but I really don't know what to expect.

Location: N. GA

Not what I was hoping for, but I have to say..  I'm having fun looking.  If nothing else, I'm having fun photographing all of these.
