I'm sorry to piss on your cornflakes, but there have been religions created for taking psychedelic mushrooms. One of them was the Sacred Mushroom Church of Switzerland and the founder is currently in jail for a long time. Granted, he was selling psychedelic mushrooms over the Internet for "donations" to his church, but what makes you think that you can start a religion here when one was condoned in such a place as Switzerland, one of the most lax nations on this Earth?

Yes, mushrooms give spiritual clarity. I know you may not be serious but if you were then just have some common sense and keep that stuff on the down low.

There are people who believe a lot of formal religions were formed by hallucinogenic drug use.

Also you won't be able to call it a religion it would be called a "cult". In which case the gov't won't allow you to practice your ritual. So when the DEA comes to bring down a hedonistic cult don't be surprised if you got to jail for a while.

Maybe you could just join these guys?

Agreed.... but it is 3 pages long.

Cant expect people to ACTUALLY be that interested....

But, you can always count on people to be quite opinionated.

Let me spoon feed it to all you people with poor reading comprehension.

I want a ritual context in which to take mushrooms.  I want to develop my own mythos and cosmology, as well as a mushroom inspired system of morals and conduct.
Religion is an augmentation to the operating system of culture, it's a framework to help you better navigate the chaos, a map if you will.
Existentialism and positivism have become insufficient philosophies.
I am perfectly aware of the thousands and thousands of years of mushroom inspired religions, in fact, part of this thread was to get more information on the methods and rituals of said religious groups.  It's my understanding that entheogens are the inspiration for all of man's early religion.  I'm therefore trying to get back to that "Old Tyme Religion".
Next, take note of this, I'm talking about something I will be doing BY MYSELF, in a locked room.
Is it more clear now?

I would say that mushrooms are a tool used in order to obtain the religious , mystical , spiritual experience. It would be odd to make a mushroom religion but it would be similar to the way christianity has made the bible their religion rather than the creator. tisk tisk

I'm sure that some Christians view the bible as a tool to reach their creator.  I'm not saying I'm going to have a little statue of a mushroom and will worship it, I just want a ritualized consumption that feels a little mysterious.
Ritualize it to keep me from trivializing it.

hey listen though, i respect the hell outta what you're saying. i feel the exact same way, but after much meditation (which should be done with and without shroomies) i came to the conclusion that the world doesn't need another clamboring voice of yet one more religion, but it can use people just like you and i, telling people one by one the wonders of the mushroom. i just introduced two new people to it. i try to introduce as many new trippers it as i can. i let the mushroom do the work.

making sure people have and can understand entheogens is a very sacred work to me.

Wow, calm down! He is sharing his idea about mushrooms and religion. He's not saying he is going to announce it to the world, just keep it in his group of friends, and if he does tell everyone good for him! Someone needs to stop being scared and let everyone know that mushrooms can have a positive effect too! Not saying I'm going to be the one, but good for whoever is!
