Hey guys this is my first grow, first flush. Worried about blue/green on myc.

I haven't picked anything, I did forget to mist before bed and I'm hoping it's just distressed and that if I keep up how I had been prior to last night, that it'll do fine.

Here's a pic:



please tell me I don't need to cut that out. I will if I have to but let me know what you guys think. I'm nervous about my babies :crazy:

Looks completely fine to me, the blue/green
is just a very minor brusing,
and so far there are no aborts on that cake.

that is just some bluing probably from when your RH went down! Not a big deal it will be fine, Looks good :thumbup:, And your aborts will have black caps just pick them off after harvest.


Edit: save up your aborts for a special day! :smile:

i fell asleep once with a fan piinted at my fc and when i woke up my cake was completly blue it scared the shit outta me but i misted it down and it continued to fruit

also u will learn to spot aborts when its brothers are gettin bigger and hes stayin the same size sometimes the caps will darken and stay real small too

Thanks guys! I'm so glad to hear they look healthy. I definitely will be obsessive about moisture from now on haha. I had been but I passed out last night after a long night.

Yeah that is verm at the bottom of my FC. Is that not ok? I know most people use perlite but I thought verm would work just as well. If not I'll use perl for my next batch :smile:

see the thing is verm can work but it is more an absorber of moisture but perlite just lets it evap creating the oh so desired RH..

perlite works this way due to its large surface area with all the nooks and crannies

Thanks guys! I did watch the RR videos, but my 2 surviving cakes needed to be dunked ASAP and I rolled them in the morning. I didn't yet get any perlite so I wetted up some verm. It makes sense why you wouldn't want verm since it holds water instead of just being coated (like a sponge as opposed to perlite).

I'll run to home depot and get some perl and switch it out. Could this be why my cake is discolored? I need to get a hydrometer to measure humidity, but I've been spraying inside several times a day and it always feels like a sauna inside.

I will replace the perlite when I can tomorrow or friday.

just get the perlite and everything will be grood.
use like 5 inches of it in your fc.

The failsafe way to tell trichoderma from bruising (until you actually get trich a couple of times, then you never mistake it) is to take a cotton ear bud or something similar and rub the blue/green area lightly.

If the q-tip is stained you have a trichoderma contamination.

if the q-tip does NOT stain it is just harmless bruising.
