You brush your teeth 2-5 times a day... that's way more than enough! :eek:

I occasionally floss but normally brushing my teeth twice a day seems to do the trick. :grin:

I floss and brush once a day, before I go to bed. And I've yet to have a cavity the 21 years of my life.



No, 2-5. Depends on what I eat or drink. I oil swish in the morning, and I brush after that to get the overnight residue off. If I have a cup of coffee that day, I'll brush after that to get rid of the dankness. So that would be two times in the first hour if I have coffee.

Once you get used to a truly clean mouth, it's really difficult to just sit there with it all dirty.

Eh, not really. I had my teeth cleaned recently and the hygienist said I was doing just fine -- floss and brush twice a day (morning & night). She said some people do it up to five, but after that it's really excessive and can cause loss of enamel.

If you're brushing 5x a day at 3-5 minutes a pop then yeah that's kind of excessive. If you're just doin a quick brush to get rid of coffee/cig breath who cares?

Once you get used to a VERY clean mouth, it borders on intolerable to have a dirty one. Not to mention I spend maybe 10 minutes a day on my teeth with the exception of the swishing, which I do while I'm reading the paper. No OCD here.

I did today simply because my teeth started hurting and I figured I should make my gums hurt as well. I fucking hate  my teeth, I have bad genetics, both my parents teeth sucked - and mine suck as well.

That's simply not true. They bleed because your running string through them, and if they aren't used to the pressure, they will bleed. Bleeding doesn't mean infection.
