Always floss, never eat crap on the floss, that's as bad as eating nail clippings.

lol how? It's from the food you ate before, if it didn't get stuck in your teeth it would be in your stomach anyway...

Because in your teeth it starts to ferment and go bad, and it smells awful. Not the same as what I ate before.

i've got braces, so i have to use some fancy special tedious floss, but i never do because it's annoying.
so i have these thingies that have a toothpick on one side and a wrapped wire brissle brush on the other, they're pretty effective

nope. bad dental hygiene for the lose.
i just brush and mouthwash, until i can fix some tooth decay on my left molars. i might have to just get them pulled after all. but then, i am going to trudge through the damn flossy bullshit as much as possible... my teeth are ok, but... damn... those damn cavities are getting excessive now; and i don't even eat sweets. i just drink soda, and that kills my damn teeth. that and not flossing.

My teeth are a fricking mess. I have two molars gone, two incisors gone and four more teeth that are just totally fucked. All my teeth are yellow because of tobacco over the years and I am a dental coward. Can't wait for them all to fall out and get me some white dentures. Yeah!

I used to not floss, then I noticed that if I didn't start flossing my teeth were going to start fucking falling out one day. Now I floss at least a couple times a week, though I still don't take good enough care of my teeth.

Just drink soda? That has got to be literally one of the worst things for your teeth and overall health out there.

I have nightmares about losing my teeth all the time. I'm not sure what the deal with that is. I've even had repetitive nightmares where I would lose all my teeth (or they would gradually come loose), then I would wake up with my teeth and say "whew!" then I lose my teeth again and the cycle repeats itself.
I would be so fucking pissed if I started losing my teeth IRL.

I floss everyday, and have for as long as I can remember. I don't like the dentist saying bad things, so I do the best I can.

I rarely ever floss. Wager I've flossed less than 50 times in my entire life, and the bulk of that was more than ten years ago. In fact, last time I went in for a professional cleaning (it had been two years since my prior pro-cleaning, vs the recommended six month term), my dentist complimented me on how good my teeth were looking, lack of buildup, etc. I asked him about the whole flossing thing and whether he thought it was necessary, and he assured me that it was a good thing to do. Then I laid it out that I hadn't flossed maybe three times since the last time I saw him and he just smiled and said, "Well, whatever you're doing it's working pretty darn well, so just keep at it."
I have to wonder if it might have something to do with how tightly my teeth are aligned? That is to say, there is either not a large enough gap to allow food to get stuck in between them in any meaningful way, or as is the case with my front two teeth, the gap is just big enough to allow for any food stuffs to flow through unstuck. Then I begin to wonder if my rigorous diet of alcoholic beverages and chips and salty foods might have some kind of "420 cleaner" effect, scrubbing away a good amount of the tartar through naturally (un)healthy eating habits?
I also use one of those SoniCare uber vibrating toothbrushes, and always brush first thing out of bed, and last thing before laying down. Haven't had any cavities (or any other tooth problems for that matter) since I was a preteen. I reckon the problem back then, was that I liked to sip on apple juice or eat fresh apples before bed (but after having brushed my teeth), and I tended to breath through my mouth, which allowed the sugar to sit and dry on the enamel all night. I also had a penchant for sour candies, which made my teeth super sensitive and ultimately caused me to say "FUCK THAT SHIT"... now I don't even care much for sweets, certainly never craving them.

No, but I should I just can't get into the habit.
Haha I think Mitch Hedberg once said, "People who smoke cigarettes, they say "You don't know how hard it is to quit smoking." Yes I do. It's as hard as it is to start flossing."

I keep floss next to my bed so I remember to do it. I consider it more important than brushing. I have a Sonicare toothbrush so missing a day or two of brushing really doesn't do much harm, I'm more worried about food rotting in between my teeth where the brush won't reach.

In my stranger moments, I might consider that this is a conspiracy by the floss folks, 'cause if you floss often, you may in effect be promoting a wider than standard spacing between your teeth (by virtue of having to jam that floss between them so often). Thus, leaving your teeth ever more likely to trap food and necessitate more future flossing.
It's a vicious profit loop for the ADA!

Not flossing actually contributes to periodontal disease, which widens the gaps through progressive decay of the teeth beneath the gums.
Shit is fucking freaky, I had a hypochondriac freakout when I realized this shit was actually happening to me. I floss now.

I'm glad I noticed it happening before it got really serious. Sometimes hypersensitivity to minor stimuli is an advantage. I can see how somebody might just put it out of sight and out of mind until their teeth were irreversibly fucked.

Floss once a day. For adults, gum disease is a much bigger issue than cavities. With cavities your teeth go bad one at a time. With gum disease you can lose them all at once. If you're thinking screw it, I'll just replace them with dental implants, keep in mind they now cost as much as a new car.

I only floss when I get food stuck, which happens quite a bit because I have a space where my molars are too far apart. And no, I don't eat the food that comes out.
Otherwise it's just brushing, Listerine, and my Waterpik (which I guess may count as flossing).
