yeah...read this...there is not a difference in potency between any strain you listed. The are all cubys.

whichever one you think looks prettier. That is what I did when I choose. Also get them from ralphs and ask about the spore of the month. You will then receive a second spore syringe for free....B+ is popular.

alright guys just got a 10 cc spore syringe of some pes hawaiians and 6 1/2 pint pre-steralized pf tek substrate from ebay? sounding aight?
still need to make the fruiting chamber and get some perlite!

what would you'all say is the absolute best way for me to inoculate once all this stuff comes in? it says on the spec sheet of the jars that they have 4 holes for inoculation and to put about 0.25 cc per hole to give you an even spread, this sound about right? and also it is a substrate made of vermiculite/ long grain brown rice flower/bee pollen and corn meal with reverse osmosis water, youall ever used this shit?

I would never buy pre-ANYTHING. Make sure u do it your self so u know everything is steril. That is the #1 thing in growin. Ebay bad idea

well, yeah i'v heard this several times, but it says completely steralized pf tek substrate so i figure i'll give it a try and let you'all know my outcome!

its apparent that people just blatently ignore the stickied threads these days and dont bother reading the forum rules either.


strain related questions should be kept to the strain/race thread

stick the names on a dartboard, and throw a dart randomly at your dartboard. ther you go your strain (roadkill came up with that)

this message is for aquabat, the answer to your question is yes! i have read up on how to do this an checked out all the pf tek vids and they all seem to be good stuff, it's what really inspired me to try to grow because he doesn't make it seem Ridiculously hard, the only thing i'm a little concerned is the sterile part, really don't want to fuck that up

Your right, the sterile part is the MOST important part of any grow.  This is why you should not trust some random guy on ebay to sterilize the jars for you.  Do yourself a favor, do it all yourself from scratch.  Follow teks exactly, learn from your failures, and never give up!

just go over it in your head all the steps alot before you get to that part have everything planned out and ready and you should be good.. steril technique is really only for inoculation in brf tek which is quite easy especially if you have a glove box.. personally i work open air with pf tek in a hepa filtered room and just using lysol over 30 jars not one contam yet

just make sure that needle is flamed and jar lid wiped with alcohal  and dont breathe on your jars wear a dust mash or something similiar

You won't fuck it up. Just follow basic sterile procedures (wash your hands, PC or steam the jars for the required time) and you'll be totally fine. Don't buy the eBay jars. You'll learn much, much more by doing it yourself, which will stand you in better stead for future grows.

Really, it's very easy. Just follow the vids.

Re. sterilisation, when you're preparing your BRF substrate, you might want to wash your hands and wipe your work surface down with some antibacterial spray, but nothing else is required.

Add the sub to clean jars (just wash with some soap and water), steam for 1.5 hrs or PC for 1.25 hrs or so.

Once they're cool and you're ready to inoculate, you need to be a bit cleaner, but not ridiculously so. (This is assuming you don't live in some unusually toxic environment or something :tongue:) Wash your hands, wipe down your work surface, flame your needle and wipe with alcohol, and in she goes. Flame/wipe between each jar.

That's as clean as you need to be. It's super easy :smile:

a question i'v had on my mind for a while is what does it take to build a simple terrarium that will offer good results? i was planning on following teks demonstration with the clear plastic container, kinda like a rubbermaid and drilling holes like he did but if the perlite goes on the bottom when ready to fruit and you water the perlite what do you do about the holes you'v put in the bottom, just let the water runoff?
