I also don't see the point of watching a horror film to just experience these feelings of disgust, disturbedness, brutality, gore and general extreme negativity which in the end, most times, just leaves you to regret watching the film in the first place and with your mind focused on the gory parts that you can't get out of your head because they're so fucked.  I don't know, it just seems to me, to be unnatural unneeded negativity that everyone could do without.

I share most of this sentiment

Me too. I've seen some awful stuff in real life,  decapitation, stabbings, a friend of mine melting ala' Freddy Kruger, a guy getting curb stomped, and trust me, in reality, it's hell to deal with.

I have no idea why people want those images and feelings inside of them if they don't have to go there

Tetsuo was too much, I had to turn it off when the woman got raped by a spinning robot drill cock and it tore her meat curtains to shreds

The Serial killers series Dahmer Bundy and Gacy are FUCKED

Eraserhead was awesome watching it all fucked up on vicodin after surgery

One time I my brother turned the tv to Land of the Dead when I was grilling really hard. He didnt know I was tripping until I started reacting in terror/hilarity when people would start to get eaten

Irreversible.  That shit is fucked. Between the guy getting his face caved in by a fire extinguisher and the 15 minute brutal rape scene, I never wanna see that film again.

It was good though

I also found Cannibal Holocaust to be a rather disturbing movie just because of how real it seemed,

a lot of movies the violence has a feel so un-real to it, it doesn't really get to you

but the acts of this movie give me a dark depraved feeling that one seems to get deep down when one witnesses a real act of violence.

I always wonder if there is something wrong with me for liking these types of movies.

Agreed. The brutal 20 minute rape scene was pretty disturbing.

Irreversible
Plus...

"The first 30 minutes of the film has a background noise with a frequency of 28Hz (low frequency, almost inaudible), similar to the noise produced by an earthquake. In humans, it causes nausea, sickness and vertigo. It was the main cause of people walking out of the theaters during the first part of the film in places like Cannes and San Sebastian. In fact, it was added with the purpose of getting this reaction."

It stars Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel. Several reviewers declared it one of the most disturbing and controversial films of 2002. The film employs non-linear narrative. The music is by French electronic musician Thomas Bangalter, who is best known as one-half of the band Daft Punk.

Oldboy is seriously the most fucked up movie ever.

The trailer doesn't even do it justice.

Far more disturbing than anything else I've seen posted so far.  No dialogue+ creepy music/sounds + gory images = bad bad trip.

Fuck why would you want to fill your head with that?!

You do know no information that passes through you leaves you unaffected, so what would you like to fill yourself with?

But...
The Ring. (I did watch it when I was 11 though...)
It isn't that scary at first, but when your crazy uncle waits till exactly 7 days has passed, and suddenly puts on the TV via remote, onto the section where the tape is shown with the foam and the ring ect, and then when you freak out and put it off, and even plug it out, he plugs it in again and does it again. I kicked the TV screen broken! I was hallucinating for months, seeing the girl around every corner, it just was crazy.

the most recent Last House on The Left's rape scene really fucked with my head.  I saw it with a girl that looked like the same one getting raped while we were both really high.  It wasnt even a good movie either, sucked azz.
