possible gyms? or some kind of galerina?
    #10867849 -

hey all these were just another routine mushroom find but the more i look at them the more they seem to fit many descriptions of gyms. maybe sapineus??

Habitat:
they were growing in the woods about 1-2 feet from trees, not sure which trees. i over looked these little guys

Gills:
attached gills, this is what is throwing me off, all of the gym pictures have separated gills.

Spore print color: i didnt even take any home. had it in my hand.

didnt stick around for any bruising.

they were also pretty chewed up. i have some chewed up pics, only one underside shot. usually my shots are better but the gyms are laughing at me. any help would be appreciated, even to know if i am on the right species or if anyone can id it as something else.

thanks!!

A spore print would really help in this instance.  I cannot tell by looking at the first image if the colour of the veil is a result of the spore deposits, or if it is simply that colour (judging by the colour of the cap).

If the spores are white or pale I would guess Tricholomopsis.  If they are orange or rusty then maybe Cortinarius.

yea i knew it was a long shot. i just didnt want to pass it up completely. ill sure pay more attention to mushrooms that look like gyms in the future. they definately look very similar to the trichs in these pics http://www.mushroomexpert.com/tricholomopsis_decora.html

thanks again!

The funky colors would put me off eating those last gyms.
They appear to be a good match for G.punctifolius.

It's my opinion that experimenting with new species is well worth while for they may provide unique experiences unavailable otherwise.
Each species has it's own profile that cannot be replicated by any other species.

And that's being nice.

I had spectabilis once, and to this day, it is the foulest thing my taste buds have ever experienced.
