Laughing Gyms

just yesterday i found my first laughing gym. from what i read, now is a pretty good time to be looking for them. i had a previous engagement, so my friend tried them out. he had to eat a lot, and said they tasted like shit, but had a great time non the less. anybody else having any luck finding these?

So he had a good time, meaning he tripped nicely?? What state/country did you pick these in if I may ask? Did they stain blue anywhere on the mushroom??

Yeah, what Lizard King said. Where are you and did they stain blue? There has been some debate here lately about the pharmacology and effects of Gyms, and there variation in potency depending on location. Any info you provide will be very helpfull. I live in the Philly area, and I have yet to see my first Gyms yet, but it is raining today, so I bet they will be out this weekend :) :) :)...

they were found in central vermont. i have heard that the ones found on the west coast lack the potency for a decent trip, but my friend did "trip nicely". he described it as "more of a rolling experiance, with lots of little peaks instead of one big one". they didn't stain blue. gyms stain orange, almost rusty, and are fairly identifyable by smell (liquerish....can't spell for shit...).

Would your friend say that they were different from a typical Psilo. trip? I ask because there is a lot of disagreement as to whether Gyms contain Psilo. or an entirely different kind of alkaloid. I maintain that they are different from Psylocibin shrooms altogether, based mainly on trip experience, lack of bluing, and past documents I have read which I can't seem to find that would back me up. Please give a trip report if possible.

Yeah, but your forgetting that there has been collections of G. spectabilus that have definitely tested positive for psilocybin/cin, so there is the possibility that his friend did indeed experiance classic psilo symptoms, the other compound you mention probably colors the experiance giving a distinct "flavour" that he mentioned his friend describing. Even if he collected specimens that contained no psilocycin/cin, he would still probably experiance some kind of hallucinogenic effects from the other newly discovered hallucinogen.

my last post quotes his exact words when i asked him what the trip was like. he said it was in most ways similar to a cubie trip, but deffinitely different. i wish i had a camera. they were in prime condition. oh well...maybe next time.
