First go around(pics)

ok so this is my first go with growin mushies and ive finally got everything i need...i made the mistake on buying a grow kit from my head shop...but at least my rye substrate bag is about fully colonized...i plain on doin rye to rye to inoculate 3 pint jars and im goin to fruit the rest in the casing bag it came with....but ive already bought the materials for my casings...peat moss, hi-yield hydrated lime, verm, and pellet gypsum.....ive had alot of trouble getting my rye right ive cooked 2 batches and felled both times.....but today i finally bought gypsum to prevent the rye from sticking...i just chopped it up a little with a slap chop and added a pinch in the soaking water of the rye....when i cook it do i put the rye in than bring it to a boil or should i boil the water than add the rye?? but heres some pics i have good pics but my gf has the cord so i used my pre:

i have a glove box for the rye to rye transfer.....

really???ive read that you shouldnt do that.......but ive also read to shake it up....ohh yea i plain on cookin rye again tonight it should be about a 8 hour rye soak....

id break it up once. let it sit for a couple days, maybe 3. to prepare my rye, i just rinse it very well until theres pure clear water. then soak for 24hours. then bring to a boil and simmer until the rye gets fat and about 5% are splitting.(6quarts of rye-maybe an hour. but when u get up to 12 or more it can take a lil longer) to test i just start pinching some. when u pinch 10 or so and dont feel a single one with a hard spot. its done.the water should be murky again. i take off heat strain and rinse. the rinse is important because the rye will be very sticky if u dont. i dont use gypsum either. if u spread the grain out and let it dry to the touch,(theres no visible moisture on the grain but its still fully saturated)i have no problem with grain sticking

also whats your substrate>?

im using rye as my substrate and 50/50 casing mix......i decided to break it up...i noticed some green in my rye after i broke it up is that a problem...heres a shitty pic of my job:

green. yeah is bad.. i have noticed the mycelium will bruise blue if u let it sit ccolonized for a while.not a lot of blue but areas where the mycelium was thick on the rye seem to do this. if ur not sure whether its blue or green let it sit for 48 hours...the blue will either disappear and the mycelium will be quickly on its way to 100%. or the green will be everywhere

yea i figures if its contamed i will know it...it might just be the rye because wouldnt i have noticed it before i broke it up??

idk it looked dark but idk it could be but i guess well just have to see....and it looked like the grain was green and like 1/4" area not much...when will i see signs of brusing? and theres a filter patch of the bag.....and the spores were on a q tipe and i just untied it and let them drop down and thats it....

ohh no i didnt get the box till after i wasted 100 bucks on the kit...but the qtip was tided in the middle of the bad so the to is sealed...so u just untie the tie under the qtip and it falls into the rye...the reason i say it was a waste because i could have ordered spores and got everthing i need for $100...but i went and got everthing except spores but i can get those if the mushies go...and i will have jars incolonated buy the time i harvest if everthing goes to plain....

so ive had the worst time ever pressure cooking...i finally got my rye right and than i let my pc cook for an hour and it never started to steam...than i called my pop and he was like did u put the rubber seal in...no soo i opened it up added more water and put the seal in than i was letting it cook and the weight was jiggling than it ran out of water 30 mins in soo idk what to do should i just...should i re pc the rye in the jars or just redue the jars or will 30min be enough??
