does this help speed colonization by making a quicker start of myc growth or does it speed up the whole process all the way through growth.

I've found it to help my colonization time. It begins to grow in the honey water. But it is more seceptable to contam.

It definitely isn`t any more susceptible to contamination than any other media you might use.
You ultimately are just creating a large syringe.
So by the rationale that honey water contaminates faster, then your syringes should technically also contaminate easily.

I tried honey water solution originally when I first started cultivating Mushrooms and then I didn`t have too much of an idea of how clean I needed to be.
I made a jar in my bathroom and left the jar wide open through the process.
I had absolutely no problems and all my jars colonized perfectly.


It is a good tek and will work for most ppl.
In my opinion it should inevitably replace std syringes.

I haven't had any problems w/ contams either but I read it in one of the teks on how to make it. It just warned that you could possiably also be growing contams in it.

DERRAYLD is correct. When using a good sterile technique this tek is no more prone to contams than any other and it gives colonization a boost.

you are in many respects also correct.
You must remember that you have a full jar of liquid sugar.
When you suck up some solution, opening the jar is allowing contamination to get into that jar.
As I said though, as long as you maintain good methods and a clean environment then the Honey tek is no more susceptable to contamination than any other method.
