POLL: did my roomate steal 1000$ from me

OK, so this kid who works with us got kicked out of his house so we let him stay here. he seems pretty cool and trustworthy.  everynight i get home from work and put my wallet, keys, etc... in the same place.  ive had 50 or 60 bucks in my wallet and its never been touched.  i was supposed to go get a new car today and i had $950 in my wallet for the downpayment, and he new i had it.  When i wake up its gone.  we searched his room and found crack paraphenalia. he knows that if he fucks up he loses his house and his job so i dont think he would do that but thats alot of money to a broke crack smoker.  what do you guys think:

I've had many people steal shit from my house, most of whom I once thought were "pretty cool and trustworthy".

I wouldn't doubt for a second that he stole it.  But then again, I don't know for sure.

He obviously stole it. The real question you have to ask yourself is how much stuff of yours he looked through before he found something of high enough value to not worry about getting kicked out anymore.

I wouldn't blame him, crack is a terrible drug and can turn the most honest people into thieves and liars. But you definitely need to get your money back by force or you won't at all.
