What do you use to download music?

Torrents are cool for when you wanna download albums or discographies...

But I just want to download a few single songs, and I tried out Limewire but it only finds wma files and my anti-virus program says all the files I keep downloading from Limewire are infected with some "WMA:Wimad drp" trojan.

What do you guys use besides Limewire for single song downloads?

Torrents.
Just don't download the whole album. You can select what files from a torrent to download.

i use limewire or bearshare. ive never had any problems with bear share, like ive had with limewire.

Yeah, until you come across a song where you can't find just the album, but it's buried in like a "1000 indie songs" or "so-and-so's best of 200X" torrent. It's one thing to uncheck 10 songs, another to uncheck 999

I use torresnts as well, but what's wrong with downloading the whole album?

Vuze can handle track selection/de-selection well, though I now use Transmission. You can also type the album you're interested into google and add ".rar" to the end, though that's mainly for albums, but you can always delete the rest of the tracks.

Because sometimes I don't want the full album...
It's not too often that's the case though so I haven't bothered with other methods of obtaining single songs.

StonedShroom: Try typing in the song title and "mediafire" into Google and see if anything comes up. It's a good way to find albums as well.

I'm just using bear share. runs WAY faster than Limewire and so far all the files have been clean.

Select all of them and choose do not download. Then select the songs you want to download and check them. It's easy.

Usenet maxes out my connection at 1meg a second.  I have never had a torrent reach that speed.

torrents max out my speed at 4mb/s, sometimes
mostly around 2mb/s
