i had some jars that contaminated some 3 months ago...... i thought i had thrown them all out but i was hunting through some stuff in my closet and i found one....
this is strange tho... all the contams had been grown over in nice hard mycellium....
it looks as if the mycellium won the war and is slowly recolonizing the jar is this possible? i have taken a sample from it and used it to make a honey water jar..... also i took a few of the nicer pieces and made a casing plz post opinions... i think this is a fairly bad idea experts tell me what you think.... i only do this because i lost everything with those jars and havent been able to find prints or spores anywhere else.... this could be my last chance to actually get some of my own mushrooms

I'd say your chances of your honey water making it through withut a contaminate, aare very slim indeed.

What sort of contam was it?
I hope you took the necessary precautions when working with this contaminated substrate? ie. dust mask, gloves etc.

Good luck

I could almost gaurentee the core is rotten thru and thru. Ive seen what looks like the mycellium coming back but the middle of the cake was straight up rotten.
