My spirit

If my spirit exists, how would I go about making it stronger?

If your spirit exists, you are it. Make yourself stronger. Physical strength is only a boon to your spirit if you can use that strength to your imaginative ends. Your emotional strength, your ability to use free will to avoid feeling miserable and thus be open to enjoying all that this world has to offer

Meditate and fill your brain with knowledge. Give into love and other positive emotions. Leave your ego at the door and just be your self.

I'm afraid that I don't see how I could be free of my ego anywhere.  Jettisoning an ego seems like a myth, a story thats been told so many times that everyone believes it to be true.  Is it true or is it myth?

It is not totally free, no. But trust me, if you believe in yourself, you will end up doing amazing things and feeling the most fulfilment possible in this lifetime.

Well dont trust me actually, just give it a go and see how it works.

The way I see it, it ispossible that our spirit continues till after death. If that is the case, then I would like to use this time to strengthen my spirit.

It just so happens that the act of strengthening my spirit has resulted in happy experiences that are worthy to me regardless of whether my spirit continues, because quite simply life is more enjoyable when you respect and honour your inner forces.

lots of people say 'well if its true that god exists, you are fucked, atheists!'

but the way I see it, if god exists, it is likely that he wants us to realise our potential here on earth and to simply appreciate the world that he has given us. the first step is to appreciate yourself. To appreicate that even if your free will is predetermined.. somehow... it is still the most you will ever amount to. But once you realise this, you can extend the reaches of your will and thus become limitless
