I liked how ignorant the anti marijuana person clearly was and the news reporter seemed to be very pro weed!! The norml guy wasn't really saying anything useful though :shrug:

I think news reports like these are important for marijuana law change- hopefully they make better arguments in the future news sections :bongroll:

Yeah, except no one mentioned: it's not about how much tax it will bring in or how it theoretically has or has not affected percentages of people who use in other countries.  The bottom line is that if people want to smoke pot, there's no reasonable case to be made for why they shouldn't be able to, as long as they're not in a position of kinetic power while they're doing it, ie: behind the wheel or operating heavy machinery.  Especially when you consider that tobacco and alcohol are legal.

I don't think smoking pot on a daily basis is a good idea.  I've been there and done that for years and it wasn't a good thing overall.  I also don't think smoking tobacco or drinking on a daily basis is a good thing and I don't know how people keep up habits like that but it's certainly not my place or the role of the gov't to decide whether they can do that or not.

I don't give a fuck that YOU (the non-smokers) need a good reason to legalize it.

It shouldn't even come into the equation at all.

That's why I don't support medical cannabis, I support cannabis. I don't believe medical cannabis is a stepping stone, I think it's an entirely different agenda compared to the legalization of cannabis.

Tax? What a load of crap. I'm not inviting the government to tax the shit out of it for profit just so we can use a plant that was here long before the monetary system.

Cut the bullshit, honestly, let us grow/smoke cannabis. Pull the dick out of your asses and just admit, you guys have been wrong the past 50/60 years. It's like the government is just pigheaded and has invested so much for so long that they can't turn around and say "hey, we fucked up".

I hit my vaporizer daily :vaped: I don't worry about the legality, I'm never going to jail.

I just want cheaper cannabis/ability to grow myself and a higher quality/bigger selection.

Marijuana will get taxed (unless you grow and smoke your own) one way or the other; the same way cigarettes are taxed and alcohol is taxed. Look up duty free prices and you will see what I mean; you can buy cigarette cartons for 10 dollars if there is no tax, and a 5th of Smirnoff costs $6: all the rest of that money is paid to uncle sam.

"Sin taxes" are full of shit, but lowering the tax will be the fight once it is legalized, but not when we are trying to get it legalized in the first place.

What many people don't realize, is that legalization is estimated to drop the costs of weed by half. That means a $400 oz will cost $200. Add a $50 per oz tax, and then that $400 oz now costs $250. Legal + tax is cheaper than black market - tax.

Of course, if you don't want to pay your taxes on beer or pot, you can always brew/grow your own :gethigh:
