That's the truth. I'm graduating this year (I started school a year late) and I absolutely refuse to go. I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on a dance. It's ridiculous. I don't understand it.

It's a once in a lifetime experience and it's a great chance to bond with that special someone. If you have the opportunity to go I would highly recommend it.

I went for the three years before this one, I really have no desire to do it again. And besides, all the people I love will still be with me. None of us are going. I would rather go on an adventure with them than to a school dance any day.

I'm not going to bother reading the replies because I know its probably just going to be a lot of Christian bashing in the thread.

All I have to say is its a private school.  Private schools can do whatever they please- if you don't like it, go to the free schools where the education is sub-prime.

I went to private (parochial) schools my entire life.  It was great.  I wasn't Catholic, so I didn't fit in all the way at my high school, but my middle and elementary schools were good.
I never had to deal with shit like metal detectors, weapons at school, drug searches, negroes threatening me in the hallways, none of that jazz.

Its stupid that his school is as extreme as it is- but hey, thats what his parents are paying for.
