actually they are still protected under the 4th amendment which
is why schools bring in the police and drug dogs to sniff
lockers for drugs as opposed to just opening and searching them,
the school administration has the right to bring in and search
the school it's self but the property of the students extends to
the lockers since most school systems require students to pay a
nominal fee, when I was in school it was $2, the courts consider
it rent and therefore an assigned property of the students

you didnt happen to learn about the bill of rights in high
school did you, they seem to be dropping that from the
curriculum, when the supreme court gave a ruling in 1969 and
stated that students do not live their basic rights at the door,
that covered not only the first amendment but all of them except
for the second because minors are prohibited from possessing
guns, the schools are limited in what they can search and even
now those restrictions are getting tighter


Savana Redding was strip searached several years ago by school
administrators, her case is being heard by the supreme court. I
had the same thing happen to me in 9th grade under similar
circumstances, I objected and was forcibly detained and stripped
by school officials, I now wish that at that time I had not been
so ready to accept an apology and the termination of the
offending officials, the vice principal and a security officer

my mom was pretty adament that we know our rights, I went to a school that had a prison cell of sorts, they called it time out, my mom learned about it and told the school not to ever use the room, that corporal punishment (paddling) was more appropriate because it interfered less with the learning process.

my mom was all about letting strangers at school whip my ass but
she did always stick up for me if she felt the school was wrong
and offered advise on handling discipline when I was not willing
to comply, work detail when I wouldnt stay for detention or take
a paddling, work detail landed me a job with the school

I remember in 2nd grade a teacher hitting me across the face she was pissed

When I was in school if two students fought outside of school and they found out about it they would get suspended

that's pretty much where the limits are, they need a warrant to
search your car if it's on school property, they cant do
anything more than check you for weapons using a metal detector
because it's non invasive, they can ask you to empty your
pockets but refusal is an option

You seem to know your stuff for the most part however, I must disagree. At my school in MASS if they have any sort of suspicion they are perfectly able to search your car without even contacting a law enforcement agency. If you can pull up something that says that is illegal and unconstitutional I would love to have it on file just in case
