Caveman #2: It Hurts

Caveman #1: Me done, mm warm.
Caveman #2: I said No.

Caveman #1: Your fault, you wear short Loincloth.

It was certainly discovered by the East before Columbus as they found highly accurate maps which were dated before Columbus.

If you go back even further there have been Egyptians Murial's found that show Maize and pineapple plants that were Native to only America.  Suggesting America was discovered even earlier.

Dated 1418

Quote:
world and all its continents were discovered by a Chinese admiral named Zheng He, whose fleets roamed the oceans between 1405 and 1435. His exploits, which are well documented in Chinese historical records, were written about in a book which appeared in China around 1418 called The Marvellous Visions of the Star Raft.

seems what we learn on the shroomery may also be incorrect

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leif_Ericson

Quote:
Leif Ericson (Old Norse: Leifr Eir?son)[1] (c. 970 ? c. 1020) was a Norse[2] explorer who was probably the first European to land in North America (excluding Greenland).[3] According to the Sagas of Icelanders, he established a Norse settlement at Vinland, which has been tentatively identified with the L'Anse aux Meadows Norse site on the northern tip of the island of Newfoundland in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

I'd love to believe that but what about the people that were
here long before 15k years ago, the oldest dating from the
bearing straight was about 14k years old but there's evidence of
civilization existing as far back as 50k years ago in north
america, indian legends talk about a race of giants that were
wiped out about 10k years ago when the new comers banded
together to eliminate the threat, about 4 years ago hanky
provided a link to remains that were dated to 65k-90k years ago
and DNA that related them as  being australian aborigines

British fishermen probably fished the shores of Canada for decades before Columbus.

That seems like a ridiculously long way just for some fish.

about that corn, the one that noticed it, Gunnar Thompson,  mentions that the seed was propagated throughout the Mediterranean region, the bible also mentions the egyptians had corn in genesis 42, now if we're to believe that columbus had brought this crop to the new world how did the corn in the Mediterranean region just vanish without a trace

Older than you. :epenis:

To be honest I never studied much about America but then I'm from the UK, how America was founded is not a specific part of of our education.  I just chucked it out there to make conversation and its worked.  I enjoyed reading every ones responses in this thread.

Under Debate!

They may, in fact, have discovered it by sailing across the Pacific to South America.  If the Monte Verde dates are correct, that is.  Hard to imagine how someone enters the continent near Alaska and the earliest relics of their culture are found in far southern South America.

But yes, it certainly wasn't Colombus.

Also, primitive weapon technology (stone spearheads) in America was unrelated to weapons used in Asia.  It was almost identical to that found in France, however.
They think that people from Asia may have come here, and people from Europe also, they traded technology, then during years and years of dust storms during an ice-age most people on the Northern continent were wiped out.  Skulls over 8000 years old bear little resemblance in structure to other American Indian populations, and appear more Caucasoid in structure.

Derp, nevermind.  Just saw that someone else pointed this out.
