Draft Day!!!
    #10231312 -

Watching it live on NFL.com.

What do you guys think about Stafford and the Lions paying him a garuenteed $41.7 M???

My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end.

I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW!

A. Ridiculous amount of money, entirely too much.
B. I've never been that impressed with him and I've seen just about every game he's played, Athens is just up the way.
He's certainly good but #1 overall? Not this year, maybe as a senior.
Goddamn he's got a gorgeous long ball, though.

He was born in Tampa, though, so that's cool.
Kiper and his amazing hair predicted he'd be 1st overall before he played a down of college ball.

Good prediction. I just hope the Lions make some actually necessary choices the rest of the way.

Lord knows they have enough chances to pick some winners.

Like you said the first pick in the NFL draft will get 43 million or whatever guaranteed.
Steven Strasburg, the consensus first pick in the MLB draft, will only get 10 million guaranteed, probably. And he's the hardest, if the not the single hardest, thrower ever. Big discrepancy.

Looks like Cleveland traded to the Jets who choose:

Mark Sanchez - QB

Wonder what Cleveland is getting for the 5th pick?

I think it was alright. The ESPN guys were talking about the 3-4 being a linebacker's system but Richard Seymour is the best defensive player on the Pats.

Browns got The Jets 1 and 2 this year, and three players, one of them a QB.

Browns are also going to trade D Anderson and Bray Edwards today, IMO.

They'd be insane to get rid of Edwards.

#7 Oakland Raiders - Darius Heyward-Bey, WR Maryland.
Terrible pick, Al Davis continues to obscenely overvalue the 40 yd dash; guy's a fucking idiot.
Michael Crabtree is the best receiver in college history; he won the Biletnikoff with one foot for chrissake.

Bey's nasty; rocket fast and a great deep threat but NOT seventh overall, they could have gotten him twenty picks later.

Big ol' sumbitch, good pick but I couldn't overlook Crabtree; him and Holt would be gold.

Meh, people in Cleveland hate him.
He thinks it's because he went to Michigan, but really it's because he can't catch a pass.

Good choice, absolute mountain of a man to plug the gut in a new 3-4 system in a run-heavy division and can definitely penetrate for some rush.
He absolutely demolished us when they came to Tallahassee.

Cos they're Jets fans, it's tradition, mostly.
