NFL Draft 2007.

well... its already time to start speculating...
Oakland and Detriot have locked the #1 and #2 spots in this years draft.
have a pretty deep class... no reggie bushs' really.. atleast i dont think so..
you have 2 QB's, possibly 3 to watch for.. Brady Quinn, JaMarcus Russel, and Troy Smith. also theres a pretty good OT out of Wisconsin, (forget his name but hes projected top 5) also consider Calvin Johnson, best WR to come in a draft for awhile. and you have Michigan CB Leon Hall.
Im just trying to figure if Oakland will go with Quinn seeing as they have brooks and walters.. and take the OT from Wisconsin to improve the line.. and then that would drop Quinn in the hands of the needy detriot lions.

Joe Thomas is the OT.
JaMarcus I think is staying for his senior year, and Brian Brohm might come out. Mel Kiper has Brohm at the top of his "Big Board."
The first pick is almost definitely going to be a quarterback, becase Oakland got first pick, and they need a QB. Quinn, most likely.
Detroit's kind of up there, but they can't be stupid enough to draft another WR, they need a quarterback, but Kitna's not too bad. I reckon they might take Joe Thomas, OT from Wisconsin.
The Bucs'll be up there, but they think Chris Simms doesn't suck, so they won't go with a Q after dropping ten mill on Phil's boy. Defender, I think they should go with, but Gruden's barely addressed the defense, draft-wise, so far. Leon Hall's an option, maybe some big guy to plug the gap, but I don't really know of anybody. A good RB in Caddy, when he's got holes, a pretty good receiving core, when Clayton plays to snuff and Stovall is emerging, somewhat. The line and QB are the main problem, but Joseph and Trueblood will be pretty good next year. The offense has the tools, I think the hometown team needs to get rid of Gruden, despite his "offensive genius."
Who else is a top ten pick? Houston, Washington, Cleveland, I'd guess. Houston- O-line and RB, if Davis can't recover well. Washington- Offensive Coordinator, defensive line Cleveland- Defensive secondary

washington- offensive coordinator= they def have the weapons to be good on offense.
Cleveland could use another good posession reciever.. maybe taking calvin johnson.. he'd be a great complement to jurverious and winslow.
I forgot about Brohm, hes very solid.. he might end up in Detroit... he'd def have an arsenal of WR's to throw too.. and they run a very similar offense to Louisville.. they really like that spread shotgun.. itd be a good fit for him.
I think Oakland needs to improve the o-line.. Brooks isnt THAT terrible of a QB.. you cant do shit when the defense is on top of you.. but then again, you cant blow a #1 pick on an OT, when you could use a QB.. perhaps they draft Quinn and trade him.

I think they take quinn, then an O-line guy or two, then build the linebackers. Their defense is pretty decent, the pass rush is good, and their pass defense is one of the best in the league.

Their d-line played all right this year, with Sapp having a resurgence, but they're all pretty old.
They've got a pretty good linebacker, but I can't remember his name, and they drafted a Thomas Howard out of UTEP who should be good.

draft sits here,
oakland, detriot, tampa bay, cleveland, arizona, washington, then houston, miami, and minnesota (will depend on the breakdown, all with 6 wins) then, buffalo, san francisco, atlanta (all with 7 wins)... greenbay, carolina, st. louis, pittsburgh, cincy, jacksonville, tennesee (all with 8 wins) denver (with 9 wins)
the rest will be decided after the playoffs.. but kinda gives a better idea.
forgot that tampa bay and arizona would be drafting in the top 5.

Cleveland would probably pick before the bucs, because the bucs beat them.
'Zona's got to pick an offensive linemen, their front five is terrible.

Aaron Brooks is hideous. Oakland will very likely take a QB. New Orleans couldn't wash their hands of him soon enough.

im just saying, he'd be mediocre if he had any protection...
but i do agree.. they will most likely take a QB.

Jeff Samargera (sp?) if he decides to play professional football.. he is a senior, but already has been signed by the chicago cubs.. could play both sports though.

Some ESPN guy was saying he could drop, for fear that he'd not devote enough time to football, despite saying he wants to play in the NFL and baseball.

i mean, its really going to come down to which one he decides he wants to play more..
there havent been many athletes successful at 2 sports, esp straight out of college.
ive never followed him in baseball, but hes a hell of a WR.

He was drafted fifth round by the cubs, I believe.
If he signs he's guaranteed $7 mill.

Damn, after watching LSU destroy Notre Dame, I'd take Jamarcus Russell with that #1 pick. Brady Quinn doesn't have the arm strength for Al Davis' offense, but Russell sure does.

its hard to agree, but i do.
LSU def has a much better O-line than ND,.. not to mention LSU has a much better pass rush than ND.. but yeah.. itd be a close toss up
JaMarcus def had the better game.
