Lebron James leaving Cleveland?

What do you guys think?
The earliest you could give a max contract to a player from the 2003 draft was the 1st of this month. Denver locked up 'Melo for the foreseeable future. Miami locked up Wade with a max offer. Cleveland offered one to Lebron, and he hasnt answered them yet. Going on a week.
I t hink he'll probably go. Why stay? The team is not going to get any better. They have NO money and mostly shitty players. Zydrunas Ilgauskus (Theres no way I'm googling him to figure out how to spell that)is big, slow, and white. All the rule changes benefit small, fast dudes who can score. Damon Jones and Larry Hughes? Please.
And, I read in an ESPN column today, that he has a clause in some of his endorsements that DOUBLE his money if he goes to Chicago, New York, or LA. His Nike deal alone is worth 100M. You think he wouldnt rather have 200?

I'll remind ya where LeBron James is from.
He will stay in Cleveland, probably for the majority of his career. The thing about the 2003 Draft is that it was alot like the 1984 Draft, a large pool of extremely talented team leaders. Carmelo is currently leading Denver, Wade is obviously leading the Heat, Bosh with the Raptors, Kirk and the Bulls, etc. LeBron if he wanted to can go join a contender and then seal a title that very same season, but personally I think he's going to stay in Cleveland abd lead the team.
The Cavs got shit without LeBron at the moment, but that doesn't mean anything. You can't really expect any team building around a star who's still on his rookie contract. I guarantee you, as soon as LeBron is locked in Cleveland, the Cavs will begin some serious reconstruction around LeBron. I highly doubt Eric Snow for example will be a Cav next year if LeBron is locked.
And think of it from his perspective: would you rather lead a team KG/Reggie/MJ style, or just be another Vince Carter or T-Mac
A few years from now there's gonna be some classic playoff rivalries with the Cavs, Bulls, Heat and Raptors. The East is well-defined at the moment.

if he comes to chi .. i will immediatley go lock up season tickets for the next 8yrs cause the bulls would be too hot to handle... i dont really see it happening though. hes proly just making cleveland sweat amd fork out some more money.... and besides, right after signing wallace, i dont think the bulls have enough money right now to sign lebron to a long term contract( which is what hes probably looking for)

That would be a dynasty team right there.. Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon, LeBron James and Ben Wallace.. they would be unstoppable year after year.
There's also the Raptors
With Chris Bosh, TJ Ford and 1st pick Andrea Bargnani, the Raps are also an attractive team at the moment

I bet they won't win 40 games next year.
Edit: The Raptors, that is.

Maybe.. they got some back court now with Ford, and who knows what Bargnani can do. Bosh is expected to have his best season yet, so they might even make the playoffs.

yea, the raptors are gettin some good young talent... but theyre still a couple years behind the bulls in the actual development of the youngsters.. i couldnt really see lebron wanting to go to toronto and waiting for his team to improve.. when he could basically go wherever he wants
but yea.. you insert lebron into the bulls lineup right now and i could see them making a run at those 6 rings we got in the 90's

Yea, the Bulls have been rebuilding for a long time now. The Raptors are still recovering from the Carter fiasco.
Insert LeBron on basically any team, and they'll probably see a playoff appearance at the very least I imagine. He definately wants to lead a team though, so I don't think he'll be going to somewhere like Dallas, SA or Phoenix.

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James won't be leaving home anytime soon.
LeBron James Small Forward Cleveland Cavaliers
Profile 2006 SEASON STATISTICS GM PPG RPG APG FG% FT% 79 31.4 7.0 6.6 .480 .738
Cleveland's All-Star forward accepted a five-year contract extension worth about $80 million from the Cavaliers on Saturday, a huge relief for the rising team and its fretting fans who worried he might be planning an escape.
James, who in three seasons as a pro has turned the Cavaliers from doormats into a playoff team, will sign the deal once the league's moratorium ends Wednesday, said his agent Leon Rose.
"I am very excited and happy to be re-signing with the Cavaliers. Staying in Cleveland ... provides me with the unique opportunity to continue to play in front of my family, friends and fans," James said in a statement released by his publicist. "I look forward to working toward bringing a championship to our great fans and the city of Cleveland."

Again, who builds teams when their young star is still not locked? That's why it has mostly been LeBron LeBron LeBron as far as the Cavs success in the last few years has been. But it's official that he's locked now and the rookie contract is history, so the team will without a doubt begin building around LeBron. Before the 2006 signing period it would be risky to bring in big talents to backup LeBron because he could have just as well left Cleveland for a larger market that would benefit his Nike deal more. But, now that they got LeBron, don't expect guys like Eric Snow and Drew Gooden to stick around terribly long. Larry Hughes will probably remain though, since he and LeBron are very close.
