Few questions (dunking, fruiting, PF tek)

1. Ive read FAQ and Hippie3's Dunk Tek, and I can't find anything that says dunking RIGHT after 100% colonizations promotes pinning. I've heard people say it. is there any evidence behind this, or any personal experiences you can inform me of?

2. Is there any benefit to letting a cake show pins before birthing, or birthing first?

3. Generally time for pins to start after being placed in the fruiting chamber after 100% colonization is 5-10 days, is this correct?

Sorry if these questions seem repititous, just trying to get a better understanding on some things :smile:

oh, and question #3 isnt a real question, I already know the answer i think (correct me if im wrong) im just a newbie looking for reassurance.

been in the fruiting chamber for 4 days, fluffly mycelium has developed, pointy strands of mycelium too, no pins yet :smile:

1. I don't know if it intiates pinning, but it does re-hydrate the cakes, and since mushrooms are 90% water.......

2. I don't know because I've never waited that long to birth.

3. The formation of pins can be variable due to variable growth conditions, I'd say that you were somewhere in the ballpark with the 5-10 day forecast.
