hey just wondering if anyone here has tried datura and how much should i ingest avoiding a trip to the hospital? also what method of ingestion should i use to further decrease the chance of a trip to the hospital?

Don`t use dautra its one of the worst things you can tripp on. One small dose can f*** up your liver, kidneys or your mind. It`s better to bang you`r head in to the wall a few times (and NO i don`t tried and of this two  :smirk: ).

Read up on some datura trips on erowid, it'll either make you never want to touch datura, or the opposite...
Whatever you do with the 'Devil's Herb', be safe. Many people even experience temporary blindness and other extreme side effects from datura. Is it really worth the trip?

These kind of deliriants are the drugs I draw the line at though I can see the attraction it is only for experienced and the most intrepid of psychonaughts. Proceed with caution. Amanitas are probably a better thing to start with, these I would do with a sitter but that's as far as I go.

Listen. If you can have a conversation with a cop while you're tripping balls in the most intense trip of your life, a bad even, you *might* be ready for Datura.

My advice would be to get a lot of seeds off the same plant if you can, and then slowly work up your dose until you find a safe level where you trip without killing yourself.

Also, have a trip sitter with you who is NOT afraid and is capable of knocking you out cold if necessary. You'll appreciate it when you think you're on the moon, but you're actually in town square taking a piss in front of the whole town.

If you really want to try Datura, just do your research, be aware of the risks (which are few if you are responsible) and most importantly, be safe.
Whenever people ask about Datura, you will hear the same old rhetoric about "staying away from this shit", "its a shitty drug", ect. ect.
Of course, Datura has its dangers, as do many things, but in the hands of a responsible, educated user it has plenty of psychedelic potential. I personally love the plant, and use it on occasion as an admixture to Ayahuasca and by itself.
The key is to be very careful about dosage. Start very low, and work your way up slowly. You can achieve great results at small doses, but there is a very fine line between a full-blown "trip" and the point of overdose.

I haven't tried Datura, but I have tried Brugsmania and Belladonna. Very odd trip with realistic (or so I thought at the time) visuals. It seems my mind didn't care that the new visuals were there, and accepted them as a part of my world.

I've experimented with datura and I'm not proud to admit it. Datura has extremely unpleasant side-effects even at non-hallucinatory doses such as physical pain and extreme cottonmouth. Just because a plant can make you hallucinate doesn't mean it should be labled as a drug. In my opinion, taking datura is the same concept as staying awake until you're hallucinating or having severe dementia or fever which can also cause hallucinations. I consider this plant to be a deadly poison, and nothing more. It puts your body and brain so out of whack that you become lost in delirium. Datura contains scopolamine which has been labled as the world's most dangerous drug. The dose that makes you see hallucinations is very close to the dose that can kill you. All tropane plants such as datura have no known dosage level because for example, a dose that will barely effect one individual could be more than enough to kill another. The dose is different for everyone and alkaloid content varies from plant to plant. Most people report that they cannot recall a single part of their trip while on a hallucinatory dose of datura. It puts you in such a deep state of delerium that you have no concept of reality and your brain can rarely create a fragmented memory of the experience. That is probably a good thing in most cases because the the types of living dreams that tropanes precipitate are all mostly very disturbing and demonic. What's the point in risking your life to have an extremely dysphoric experience that you cannot even remember? If you really want a good indication as to what this plant is all about, take a large dose of diphenhydramine/ benadryl. Diphenhydramine has very very similar physical and mental effects. It also makes you hallucinate at high doses, the same way datura does but nowhere near as severe. Unlike datura, on diphenhydramine you will still have some concept of reality which is essential for keeping yourself alive while tripping. My advice would be to stay clear from these drugs but if you're determined to experience what datura is capable of, go with the much much safer alternative, diphenhydramine. If you're interested in deleriants, look into amanita muscaria but if you decide to ingest these mushrooms, make sure that they're from a trusted ethnobotanical website because these mushrooms must be cured a specific way for safe ingestion. Amanitas make you somewhat delerious on high doses but the visions that they give you are much more spiritual and even mind-blowing at the right dose. Just don't go out and pick some yourself as there are many lethally toxic look-alikes and they must be dried properly for certain essential chemical reactions to take place.

The two actually work good together. I like mixing datura/brugmansia flower into my herb, provides a unique experience.

Smoking datura/brugmansia looks interesting, I guess it gives a anticholinergic buzz similar to low doses of dph? Some kind of weird sleepy buzz?

Sorta, but smoked datura does'nt have as much of a body load as dph IME.  Actually, I have only one experience with penanum harmala(3g in a failed dmt/maoi journey), but the rue buzz reminded me of smoked datura more than low dose diph.  However, this is one of those things which is different for sundry people.  Some report NO effects from smoked datura and some claim to have had full blown datura journeys from smoking.  Regardless, it seems to be the safest route for datura consumption albeit one which might not be able to produce the full blown experience(though this is a good thing for most!).
