Ive read about these "Herbal MAOI" and from what I have been told by brighter folks, there isn't any. Read the FAQ about MAOI's on shroomery.

Syrian rue would be your best bet... it provides the highest dosage of an MAOI and is easy to injest...

The Syrial Rue combo should be treated with some respect, though, from what I've been reading, such as experience reports at Erowid, as some people have perhaps taken a bit too much and experienced late stage trip seizures to some extent(!)....does anyone know of a sound amount of SR and shrooms to combine to get a 'basic' level 5????????????

You only get side affects if you don't follow the diet. There are foods your suppose to avoid eating when you take a MAOI. I heard if you take enough of just syrian rue you'll trip or get high or something. For a mushroom trip, just take 3-5 ground up grams, or make a tea out of it.

again, this topic has been done to death over the last few years... utfse.... & of course, check out the vaults at www.erowid.org & leda at www.lycaeum.org .... do some research, mmmmkay.... oh, and harmaline may lower siezure threshold, and hypotension is a common side effect just from consuming harmala alkaloids... the seeds seem to have a bunch of other alkalids in 'em, including some suspected of being anti-cholinergic (maybe some info in the shulgins' book TIHKAL) ~ kitchen chemistry project: extract fairly pure harmine & harmaline hydrochloride crystals from ground Peganum harmala seds using only water, vinegar, salt, (and ammonia, optional) math extra credit: how much would you pay for a kilo of syrian rue seeds? & how much would you pay for 25 grams of harmine/harmaline crystals? offer void in canada...

In reply to:
tribulis terrestris (puncture vine)... ???
For the intrepid experimenter, this is available in many herb shops that sell Ayurvedic herbs,by the name "Gokshura".
It also used to be available in large quantities in my backyard, but we have finally mostly eradicated it!

never tried this, but theoretically Yohimbe (Yohimbine) is an MAOI. i've heard it's weaker than most, but it might work. anyone tried this yet?
