I'm saying I been hearing these stories for many many years at home and abroad. Yet no one can demonstrate it to me and I've never had any. Just think that's odd.

WE have entire species of animals and insects literally disappearing into thin air. FACT
I'm curious about this. Do you have some sources I can take a look at? It sounds interesting. Is this really a fact?

I saw that article, and what I thought was funny, it that it has nothing to do with 2012. And yet they use the date midnight on 22 September 2012 as a "fictional" date.

I was just speculating really, thats why this thread is called the real 2012 the implication was supposed to be that it didn't have to happen in 2012 but a global disaster could be near on the horizon.

No because i still related it to the mayan prophecy suggesting it could not be so accurate but they we're great astronomers.

I dunno if anyone has mentioned it in this thread yet
but on that faithful date
in 2012
it will not be the end of the world.
rather, there will be the biggest party the world has ever seen!

I believe that there will be some big changes in the next 10 to 100 years but I have serious doubts about the Mayans being able to predict these events with such accuracy. 100 years is only a blink of eternity. Maybe it's 2112? ... at least that way we would have more time to prepare.
Maybe just the fact that we believe something will happen is enough to make it happen!

The only reason I even pay any heed to this 2012 stuff is because it's a Mayan theory, and I'm Mexican!

i wish people would get past the mayan aspect of it. there are other civilizations involved.

I think the Mayans were an incredibly notable civilization. Even if there are other civilizations somehow involved in all this, I probably wouldn't care. The Mayans do it for me.
