the hands-down most beautiful electronic track you've ever heard
    #9795271 -

if you had to pick one, what is it?

this is mine:

Autechre - 444

i love this track, the little sticcato rhythms, the buzzing humming melodies and full orchestral soundscape in the background.  it always paints beautiful landscapes and stories in my mind.

That's funny, one of mine would definitely be a track from Autechre - LP5. I can't just choose one, no way.

Shit, that's hard. I think it might be a toss up between Clark - Ted and Flashbulb - Autumn Insomnia Sessions actually I don't know at all lol there are far too many brilliant electronica tunes.

A snares track would probably take my favourite but i really couldn't pick. Most of my favourite stuff by him certaintly couldn't be called beautiful.

Right now Tipper's Whomi (thanks Grapefruit for turning me on to him!)

After a few hundred listens though it may not be, in which case I will inevitably revert back to something from Boards', like Olson..

444 is a brilliant choice. Vletrmx and Eutow are a couple other Autechre favorites.

A few others:
Vitalic - The Past
Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus
Boards of Canada - Music is Math
Junior Boys - Teach Me How to Fight
Vangelis - Blade Runner
Tim Hecker, Tangerine Dream, Global Communication, etc

Formulaic trance can be very beautiful at times too - maybe Aril Brikha falls under that category. Electronic music is a beautiful world.

Easy...

Aphex Twin - Girl/Boy Song

The entire track is pretty amazing, but the orchestral breakdown towards the end of the song is beyond words, for me. I've almost blown out several different speakers playing this song.

BoC's 'Roygbiv' is up there for me as well.

Mum, Dntel, Eno, Hecker, Flashbulb, and others have some tracks that are very near and dear to my ears as well, but I could go on for days and days there so I won't get into it.
