what is the name bear short for?

anyone know?  i want to say bearavoun or something like that but i dont think thats right.

i didn't know about this. the only person i know named bear is bear grylls and i assumed he picked that cause he has an outdoor show. i didn't think it was short for anything. i tried googling it and it didn't work.
