Possible stunzii's, and Panaeolus foenisecii
    #986491 - 10/23/02 11:04 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Ok these were all found on the same lawn at my college!

The first pic here, you can see the carmel colored caps and white stems of what are thought to be stunzii, but, Im leaning towards Psathyrella candolleana. There has not been any bluing reaction, nor a veil. It really smells like a Psilocybe however!

And yes, Im pretty damn sure that is a foenisecii, instead of a subbalteatus :frown: Oh well. I was soooooo excited when I saw these ones because I thought they were for sure stunziis, but now, Im thinking not !

heres the gills of one of the suspected psathyrella's...

And the pan:

The gills of the pan:

**EDIT** Im certian that all are indeed Psathyrella candolleana. The large one is not a stunzii.

Nice photos and IDs, even if you didn't hit the jackpot.

Yeah, I was so happy to find some mushrooms. It STILL has not rained here. However there has been some mist the past few days, so the humidity has been up...Ive been just looking in all the greenest lawns I can find!

Im actually going to be hunting mainly for edibles this winter because I think something like that is better than finding active mushrooms...Im thinking Im over with those type

Your IDs are correct.
BTW, did you notice how the Psathyrellas cap crack in a very unique way ?

Yeah, I sure did notice that!

The caps all cracked all the way in half soooo easily. It was weird.
