These things are a prolific natural source of 5-HTP and tryptophan. Eating a few might relax you and help keep serotonin levels up.

yes we demand a sticky!by far the most popular find in the hunting forum!
It sure is common, but the stickies are reserved for psychoactive shrooms only. We have never even had an Edible sticky before. Psychoactives only.
Next spring we will have a Panaeolus subbalteatus sticky.
And this summer we will have a Copelandia sticky.
And since last year we had a large amount of Liberty Cap posts from the UK area, so we might do a sticky for them too.
Otherwise, lately everybody has been making "Official" topics which is alright, but we need to draw a line somewhere because too many sticky topics makes the front page of the hunting forum too cluttered.
I saw a good patch of foes yesterday, and when i returned to the lawn with my camera (to get a pic to add to this topic) the lawn mowers were already on the ground.

But but but.... I read on erowid somewhere that P. foenisecii collected on the east coast are potently active and that sometimes little children die from psilocin poisoning from this species!!!!! Maybe you should reconsider requests to sticky this thread.

I bioassayed the effects of tryptophan using a small amount I collected yesterday.
The results were astounding, I consumed them last night with dinner, and a few hours later I was asleep!

slackophage,
I believe the amount of Tryptophan in foenisecii is too miniscule for any noticeable effects. So what you experienced was probably just in your head.
Panaeolina is not considered an edible or hallucinogenic mushroom. And although not considered poisonous, i've heard they can give people the shits if you eat enough.
It is not good form as a mushroom hunter to experiment like that. They are inedible.
