stupid question

should i let the print dry before making the syringe or is it cool to add sterile water right away? i'm using the tek described in the pf tek ur uh i mean my freind is :blush:

No need to let the print dry if you are using it straight away.
However if you are trading or storing it then it is best to let it dry.

dry it out yourself and steralize it w/ h2o2 or rubbing alc.

Alcohol kills spores. Kramer knows that.

Most peeps use tinfoil. I don?t. I use HD wax paper.

You swab tinfoil with alc, let it evap, then place cap on the TF to print.

I don?t place a jar over a cap, as the high rh caused by the jar can tend to rot the cap. Instead they are made in very sterile contidions, with a  low rh.

8 - 12 hours later, the print is laid. Let the TF dry a bit, if it shows any moisture on the TF once the cap is removed.

Then fold it, or cover with another piece of clean TF.

Simple as that. If all is freaky clean?

I use HD wax paper. Because, after the print is set. One can then cover it with another sheet of clean wax paper & seal it togather with an impulse sealer.

Kramer could make prints on a rock, in central park, if he wanted to.

But, one has to think about the surface & sterility of whatever one makes prints on.

The material should not be porious. As spores would tend to sink into it & be a bitch to scrape off. The other factor is sterility & storage.

The material must be sterile, or sterilized easily. It should not be able to absord moisture. As, if it ever got damp, or wet. Contams could invade with that moisture & also, the spores might germinate.

I would have to see & feel typing paper, to give you a opinion. Which is not going to happen. So, I would stick with tinfoil, if I were you.

damn good advice, i'll use tin foil or just make them in 1/2 pint jars for easy syringe making.

Dude says that a person can fill a tea bag with desiccant and throw that in the jar along with the cap to inhibit moisture on the print........

Wouldnt that also dry out the cap, rendering it of even making a print?

I heard somewhere on this site to put a sterile fishhook through the top skin of the cap before setting it down to print so that lifting the cap off without smudging the print would be easier. 6T, thanks for that print making tek. I like the looks of that wax paper print. Very nice.  :laugh:

Yes it would dry out the cap. If the cap is droping spores before one starts to print there should be no problems.....
