Another mushroom capsule endorsement

I hate the taste of mushrooms, and have gotten totally burned out on tea, so I decided to give the capsule route a try after reading another report on them. So I purchased a cap-m-quick and got a deal with more gelcaps than I could EVER use in my lifetime.

On my first go round here, I didn't really pack them well apparently, as I was only able to get .356g in each capsule on average. (I weighed about 50 caps empty and did the math to get the empty weight to eliminate rounding errors, and then weighed the caps full and did the math again). I then took an empty cap and dropped it in water. Within 7 minutes the cap had a very large hole in it and within 4 more the thing was just gel mush. Guessing that stomach acid would be a little more aggressive, I started to doubt I'd experience the extra long onset delay others have experienced. Boy was I right.

I took 10 caps chasing with Diet Dr. Pepper, and within 10 minutes I felt very slightly different. It was very slight though and I expected I had a while before they really began to peak. Since normally I experience a very slow come up, I decided to go to the drive in with my wife so she could get some food for herself. Big mistake.

We're driving (she's driving) and it's really just a very, very minor increase in onset as expected. Suddenly, like a switch had been flipped--BOOM--they hit hard. One second I feel a bit odd, the next I'm ripping open the fabric of reality. The lights and sounds of traffic became way too much, so I closed my eyes and began some breathing exercises to calm myself, which helped. For a while I was very concerned but eventually it became manageable. All told, probably 15-20 minutes from ingestion to sudden and total full blown trip.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this ingestion method. I suspect this is going to be my primary method from now on due to the ease of use and storage. I'm going to cap up a bunch and store them in a vacuum sealed storage container to hopefully slow down any residual potency loss. The downside is you lose a little of your weight because in grinding them up in a coffee grinder, you get lots of dust which you can't easily recover. But it's not a huge amount, and well worth the benefits.

Anyways, just wanted to share. Thanks for the idea shroomery!

For those who are interested in some advice on the capsule tek, here it is:

When you powder your shrooms in a coffee grinder, throw in a vitamin C tablet (500MG will do) then follow the capsule tek to the letter. I use OO capsules that I purchased at www.capsuline.com

i too have had a similar experience by using gejcaps. the first time i took 1 gram in gelcap form as a medicine i was standing outside in the early morning and all the sudden my vision just shifted to trip-o-color and i felt like i was floating.


no come up or anything, if it had been a tripping dose for me it probably would have smacked me in the face and left me their.
