Improvements on FC? Possible cobweb?
    #9766552 -

I think this is cobweb but wasnt sure if it was mycelium growing off of my cake and colonizing the verm I rolled the cake in.
My cake has been in my FC for 3 days so far. It is the same FC build by RR in his video (plastic tub with drilled holes and perlite). Still no pins on my cake but I figured there would be enough air flow with all the holes. I put my tub near my heating vent so it would get some air flow and warm heat to keep the FC temp up around 80F.

I touched it with peroxide on a q-tip and it just got wet, didnt disappear. So do you think this is cobweb or mycelium? also any suggestions to improve my FC?

Mycelium? It is holding on to the vermiculite pretty tight.

Awesome pic of cobweb mold!

Douse that thing in straight h2o2 (not diluted) and give it PLENTY of FAE.

Its not cobweb, if it was it would be much greys and peroxide would have made it fizzle and melt. However it doesnt look like mushroom mycelium either, thjough i have never expereinced contamination in fruiting so IDK.

I wouldnt sit your fruiting chamber in a draughty place, which will upset the natural air currents inside the fruitng chamber.

If that first picture isn't cobweb then I really need some new glasses.

Looks like cobweb to me.  Even with the shotgun holes you still want to fan it.  Also it doesnt need 80 degrees now that it is in fruiting conditions, room temp is perfered.

Alright, i moved it to another room away from the vent so it doesn't have a draft. i'll fan it every few hours and spray some h202 on it now and later tonight. temp now is about 72-73F.

whats FAE stand for?

Give it a heavy spraying once every 12 hours for the next day and a half.  Fan as much as possible without completely destroying your RH.

FAE = Fresh Air Exchange.

If it was cobweb h202 would fizzle and melt it. I believe it to be some other contamination.

But i could be wrong

How does the picture you posted look any different than the first picture the OP posted, other than the fact that the one you posted is very mature cobweb?

Its cobweb for sure, I left a failed monotub for a couple of months all sealed up, and by the end of it it was solid cobweb mould. I know that shit on sight now.

Spray it with 3% peroxide, it should fizzle away. Mist the area again after 12 hours to be sure its gone

It's most likely from the vermiculite you used. That was happening to me for a while until I began to cook the vermiculite before rolling the cakes in it. Never happened again since. You can also put moisten the vermiculite, put it in a quart jar and stick it in the microwave for 5 mins at a time then let it cool.
