I figured maybe someone else has some answers in the mean time.

I'm going to school for internet security so that would be a good job to get some experience in the mean time.

When I was hired I was sat down and asked a lot of role playing type questions.  He gave me a situation and asked what I would suggest.  I recall having to navigate him to Device Manager and checking for drivers in one situation.  You basically need to be able to install drivers, use our software tools effeciently (THAT you will be trained on), troubleshoot, install all types of hardware...  The most important thing to them is selling services though.  This is a retail position and money is always on their mind.  If you get an interview, gear all of your answers toward making them money.  :lol:

They won't teach you how to use computers, this asshat that joined learned that the hard way.  Mofo was trying to use a laptop touchpad with 3 fingers and wondered why the cursor was jumping around the screen.  :confused:

When you're not stuck at the counter checking stuff in, it's a lot of fun and I really enjoy the company there.  If you're independent, try for the in-home position.  You'll make more money too!

I would if we got discounts on them.  The discount is based on margin.  If they bought the computers for $400 a piece, and retailed it at $1000, I'd probably get it for about $675-$750.

They actually lose money on the sales if they don't add services to the sale, so I don't get SHIT off of computers.

I agree the shit's overpriced, but it's my job and it's not changing.  I actually get a lot of praise from people about our service, remember YOU know how to fix PC's, some people don't know the difference between their hard drive and power supply.  It's like me and cars, I open the hood and don't know what the fuck I'm looking at.

$129 for OS install.  I even explain to them how to do it themselves but they gimme that blank stare and tell me to do it.  :lol: Okay..  sure!

.$250ish... for the in home network setup + 1 additional puter  I think.  I don't ever ring in-home shit.
