Not sure if thats a good idea or not. You may get to bust the drug runners bringing in cocaine. Could be a dangerous job.

Heres one question that is crucial: Do you get sea sick easily?

I salute your  interest in joining the Coast Guard. Here's a few things to consider. [These are just observations from a veteran who has some experience in these matters]
1) Are you a drug user at all? Random UA's are the norm and you will most likely be busted if you continue.
2) Just because you will go into the CG with a tech rating, do not think you will escape shit jobs. Everybody, well every enlisted, gets shit jobs until you make rank. [RHIP- rank has its priveledges]
3) If you are against the war on drugs, you will have a moral dilemna on your hands, because the CG is on the forefront of TWOD.
There are other things to consider as well. I hope you decide to join, because I think everybody who enjoys the freedoms that others have worked and died for should give some payback, be it military service or some sort of volunteerism.
