Album recommendations?
    #9652128 -

I was wondering if anyone has any good albums to recommend?

I'm looking for something out of the ordinary I guess.

Not like Dark side, White album, etc etc. but something almost obscure if  you get me.

Thanks a lot guys.

Nobody listens to names they have never heard of though...

Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady

This is my favourite mingus album and very obscure, amazing if you like jazz. Mingus has the full package, he is easily one of the best composers of all time IMO.

Also check out The Secret Cheifs 3 and Mr.Bungle (they're by the same dude can't remember the name of him now), but very obscure eastern influenced rock. The Path of Most Resistance is the secret cheifs best IMO.

Mike Patton is the guy behind SC3 and Mr. Bungle (and Tomahawk, and Faith No More, and Peeping Tom, and Fantomas, I think he did a CD with Dillinger Escape Plan between vocalists, and probably 15 other outfits as well.)

Last night I was honored with the Nobel Prize in theoretical physics. This worldwide recognition has given me the opportunity to bring hope to a war-ravaged world. I vowed to myself I would work like a dog at this. But now, it's 10:30 in the morning and I'm just getting out of bed. I did get up earlier around 8:00am, but I just lied in bed for a while, and then...jerked off. I've got to stop masturbating, it makes me too lazy. Stop it Albert...stop it.

Beefwatsons' list is the most accurate here, though, I would like to enhance it. I'm just listing the names of albums specifically I think you should listen to first, but indeed all these bands are good from start to finish. BUY ALL THESE CDS AND ALL OTHER CDS BY THESE BANDS FOR THIS IS GOOD PSYCHEDELIC MUSIC!

Cult of Luna: THE BEYOND
ISIS: OCEANIC
Mouth of the Architect: The Ties That Blind
Rosetta: The Gallilain Sattelites
Pelican: City of Echos
Baroness: The Red Album
Talking Heads: SPeaking In TOngues
TOOL: ALL TOOL but especially Lateralus
Primus: Pork Soda
Mudvayne: LD 50
Kyuss: ...and the Circus leaves town.
Gordian Knot: Emergent
Star One: Space Metal
System Of A Down: Toxicity
Zozobra: Harmonic Tremors
Alice In Chains: Nothing Save or Dirt
Between The Buried and Me: Colors
Converge: Petioning the Empty Sky
King Crimson: Dicipline, Construcktion of Light
Giant Squid: Metridium Fields
Qualone: Qualone
Godmsack: Self TItle
Deftones: White Pony
Rage Against the Machine: Evil Empire, Self TItle
Iron Butterfly: In-a-gadda-da-vida
Irepress: Samus Octology
Ayreon: 01011001
Collapsar: Integers
Eloy: Timeless Passages
Electric Wizard: Dopethrone
Mudvayne: End of all things to Come
Mars Volta: AMputechture and Bedlam in Golitath
Failure: Fantastic Planet
GOjira: The Way of ALl Flesh
Incubus: FUNGUS AMONGUS
Red Hot Chilie Peppers: Freaky Styly
Jefferson Airplane: Surrealistic Pillow
Lemon Jelly: Lost Horizons
Red SParowes: Oh God, lord of vengence, show yourself!
A Perfect Circle: Thirteenth Step, EMotive
Puscifer: V is for Vagina
Porcupine Tree: Voyage 34
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Division Bell, Piper at the gates of dawn, Relics, Ummagumma, Meddle(truely Pink Floyd is god, I hope you have noticed)
The Police: Syncronicity
Tom Waits: Beautiful Maladies

Surely all these bands are awesome, and there are quite a few more to be listed but this will probably set you free. I have noticed bands like ISIS and Baroness are bands meant to trip to. You shouldn't just listen to soft music, quite the opposite. When you trip, your brains wants fast, complex, and very insightful music. With all the bands and albums listed above, your soul will thank me.
