Music to me is very spiritual, and so is dancing. Dancing is my favorite form of meditation. I've been listening electronic music, idm, experimental, techno, and all sorts of digital for about a year. I'm so into music, i spend most of my money on albums, and a lot of my day downloading music (i have nearly 500 albums right now). I just thought i'd give some kickass recommendations to this board, because i love you In no particular order:
Four Tet Autechre Global Goon Speedy J Si Begg Jega (album Geometry) Mu-Ziq Claro Intellecto Squarepusher Astrobotnia (also Ovuca) Cylob (also Kinesthesia) Cylobotnia (Cylob AND Astrobotnia) Gescom Arovane o9 Simon Posford (aka shpongle, purple om, dub trees, and many other aliases) 808 state Richard Devine Richie Hawtin Dntel
That's all i'll recommend for now. I have a shitload more if anybody wants more :p Peace

I love bogdan. Actually, the label he's on, Rephlex, is owned by one of my favorite artists Aphex Twin. That label and it's artists are my absolute favorite (along with autechre). Warp does have a lot of good stuff, but most of it i don't get along with. My friend told me that more you listen to warp stuff, the more it grows on you If any of you haven't listened to Autechre though, it is an absolute must. Autechre while tripping is absolutely mind blowing, far better than Shpong for tripping IMO.

I've been on more of a prog rock trip lately I guess.
Tool, Meshuggah on the metal end of things.
King Crimson, Yes, etc on the slightly more mellow vein (esp In the Court of the Crimson King).
Tool + a high dose of mushrooms = enlightenment.

Oh, i guess Dub Trees is on the same label, Twisted. Also, mum is pretty good, i recommend the song Green Grass of Tunnel (will make you cry when tripping :p ). I've heard good things about Tool, but i've made the switch over to electronic music. Call me close minded, but i'm stuck in it lol. Actually, the friend who turned me on to IDM, listened to Tool before he made the switch over. He's the most far out guy i know.

Nope. As far as I know Dub Trees have been released only under two labels - Liquid Sound Design and Dragonfly records.

http://www.discogs.com/artist/Dub+Trees This site is trustworthy (i use it a lot) and says the 3 members of Dub Trees are Greg Hunter, Simon Posford, and Youth. They could be wrong though

wrong info. if you want, you can check http://www.shpongle.com/hallucinogen/frame-main.htm
it lists the groups and collaborations of simon posford.
and it is true that dub trees is released from l.s.d which is downtempo releases of dragonfly records.

I think one of the best tripping bands of all time is Ozric Tentacles. They do some stuff that just leaves me speechless, even while not tripping.
I think their song, Spyroid, sounds what tripping is like...meaning that I can play this song for somebody who has never tripped and they can get a pretty good idea of what tripping is like. It has the "fuzzy" feel that I get when I trip. Other bands have it as well, Pink Floyd especially.
