Would you spank your child if he/she was being a little douche?

I don't understand why people are against spanking, but they think sending their kid to bed without dinner is a better punishment? That seems way twisted to me.

mine are angels, i was blessed.

but sometimes i wish i could spank the shit out of other peoples bratty ass kids around this city!

they dont go to school, they just go around damaging peoples property.

most of these kids have poor crack head prostitutes for moms and ghetto bangin daddy's in the slam.

and they are going to grow up just like them. what a wasteful cycle of life.

I was never spanked or sent to bed without dinner...and I turned out fine. 

You can assert control and obedience in ways other than physical punishment.  I think most parents who hit there kids for punishment do it for two reasons:
1. Because their parents did it to them.
2. The child is just out of control, probably due to bad parenting, and the parents only option to get through to the kid is by physical pain. 

I'm not really against it or for it.  Am I going to spank my kid?  I hope to build the same relationship I have with my dad....and that is complete respect founded on love and admiration, rather then fear.

I probably won't spank them. Because its weak. Instead ill make them run through dangerous obstacle courses while i fire live rounds over their heads. Once they face death they'll stop fucking around.

I was spanked a lot as a kid, and I don't remember my childhood but from what I see in my parents now, I don't think I was raised very well.
I'd be very calm no matter the situation at first, and try to get them to behave by conversation, since afterall, it is one of the most powerful tools ever developed by humans.

If they won't stop, i'd spank them very hard ONE time on the BUTT and send them to their room for a few minutes to think about what they did.

If that didn't work after a few tries, on to the next strategy. Life is a hit or miss game, some people are just too lazy to find the next target.

i got immune to being spanked, my mom used to beat me with hotwheels tracks. i actually prefered a spanking over being grounded ,because to me it was much better to be spanked then to have to stay in my room with no TV or Sega.

I think spanking is the way to go. The trick is to only spank them when they really deserve it. Like a last resort option. The less you spank them the more effective it is.


Just like praise. If you you tell them they do a great job even when they didn't it won't many anything when they actually do a good job at something.

This crap about everyone is a winner is horseshit. Why strive for success if everyone's a winner. It creates lazy people who expect to just draw a paycheck for showing up to work and not doing anything.

Wen i was a kid my father had the strap haha. But he actually only beat me with it one time. And it was well deserved. i said Fuck you to my mother wen i was in 5th grade and ever since then i still don't even curse in front of her. If its an extreme set of circumstances i don't think smacking your kid is bad. If my kids ever showed me disrespect or my wife disrespect i would crack them. But also I've raised a better set of kids then that. I slapped my son once wen he was arrested for joyriding with some buddies. My daughter is an angel and my kids always show me and my wife respect. My kids are home every night for dinner 5 on the dot no matter what. Dinner is very important in my house every night i have 2 be with my family for dinner and on Sunday for the big family dinner and church. And to tell you the truth my kids love being with family and it brings us closer. Off topic Little but i think i have some valid points in there.
