so my girlfriend and I went "house hunting" today. We came across a house for sale that the entire property was hardwood chips! We looked around, as if we were really interested, and I found some shrooms that look like cyans but larger and the stipes were already bruised. I'm printing them now and trying to fix my camera. I will post my findings and hopefully some pics in an hour or two.
by the way, one of the mushies weighed 7 grams, just the cap.

We got out there and I realized I had left my SD card for my cam in the computer!
There wasnt much too take picture's of anyway,
unless you like seeing dead cyans...

Found this little cute guy this morning in a very unusual place about 1 ft off a sidewalk growing directly in dirt.  At first thought it was just an LBM because of where it was, but I gently pulled it up and sure enough was a tiny wood chip(visible in first pic).  Within minutes it was blueing and drying tan.  Pretty cool stuff.  Cap is barely less than the size of a U.S. quarter.  Taking a print too for fun. 

Time +0 (5-10 minutes after picked)

Time +12 minutes

Time +28 minutes

Time +2 hours 2 minutes

I found a huge patch of cyans last night. Probably close to 200 picked. I couldn't get any habitat pics because it was late and I wasn't suppose to be there. It was nuts! At first I just saw a few, then every time I moved some leaves there were more. This kept going until headlights were coming down the drive. Here is a pic of the haul.


I found this guy behind my house in a mixed woods, not active but really cool.

Quick!

Start putting tiny little hats and scarves on all the mushrooms that are left outside...because it's going to get COLD this weekend.

At least in the Seattle/Tacoma area, not sure about further out...Here, the latest NWS forecast calls for a Saturday night low of 28 and Sunday night low of 21...ouch!  But hey, its mid-December, so I'm really not complaining at all...

iv been pleased with my modest adventures this season

still have no way to share pics

but i have had my fun

coolboarderguy and i are off to the coast today to look for more cyans and azures.
the last few times we've went the hauls have gotten a lil smaller each time. but hopefully the frost and recent rain brought out some good last flushes. i'll update this evening and let errrbody know whats still good. coolboarderguy should be posting some yummy mycoporn when we get back. hopefully:mushroom2:

I picked the last of my patch today, and am impressed how much they've grown in the last week with all the rain. The smallest cap is a bit larger than a quarter.

I took the butts to make cardboard spawn for next year. Sorry about the shitty pic.



I now think my first hunting season is over, so thanks to the people of the Shroomery for all the help!!

well, just got back from the coast. the haul was even smaller this time and we had to look quite a bit harder. found some healthy cyans and azures but the season is definitely winding down.
and damn the wind was crazy at the coast. like 50 mile an hour winds. almost knocked me on my ass.
