No, just that stuff I described.  The bag is only on Day 20 still, so I was never expecting to be this far yet.  But after mixing it at 40% on Day 12, it recovered and spread like crazy, appeared to be 100% 4 days later.  So it's been getting fluoroescent light now for 4 days, and I'm keeping a close eye on it. :lol:

i like taking the block of Mycelium right out of the bag and placing it in a fruiting chamber which gives way more surface area for pins to form.

Yea I would do that, but I just don't wanna go thru the hassle of making an FC and maintaining it.  The next thing I do is gonna be the small dub-tub design - probably get some WBS spawn bags and some WTS bulk sub.  I like the idea of set-it-and-forget-it. :grin:

yeah if you dont have a FC then thats the way to go. I make my own bags and then I take the chunk of myc out of the bag and into the fruiting chamber. I apply a thin casing on the chunk and for the sides I kinda pat it on with my hands (i wear sterile glove). I actually have a bag of ONLY rye berries and I took it out of the bag and applied the casing to it. I now SERIOUSLY have around 200 pins. theres so much surface area for pins to form. Its like its pinning everywhere. The only thing is I think it may have too may pins because they are all growing slowly. So far no aborts. Everything seems to be making progress every day. I think since there is so many pins they are growing slow.

yeah  counted 100 and then theres still tons more so I would say 160 pins ATLEAST if not 200. Ill takesome pics when they get bigger. id have to take 4 pics all the way around the huge chunk to show all the pins. Im amazed for a chunk of straight rye having so many pins.

Indeed, it's not always bad to not have a big surface for pins. You might get a smaller yield in a bag but you will generally see some monsters because of all the nutrients there for them. :cool:

All the updates are basically in the post I made last night w/ the 3 pics - just scroll up.  The fruiting bag I cannot get a good pic of.  When I gave it that good mix, alot more substrate specs/dust got stuck to the inside of the bag, and it's simply impossible to take a decent pic.  For me to even LOOK at it w/ my own eyes, I gotta shine a flashlight at the perfect angle at it. :lol:  Once there's actually shrooms growing in it tho, they'll be clearly visible and I'll definitely get some pics. 

Tomorrow is gonna be day 12 for my 2nd set of bags, and that's the day I mixed my other 1.  I'm not sure if I'm gonna mix yet tho, cuz the only reason I did w/ the 1st was because the growth was totally confined to the front, and it didn't seem to be growing back too quickly - it was actually growing upwards w/ aerial rhizo's.  These 3 bags tho, w/ all those inoc. points, have much more even myc growth, all the way to the back.

Still waiting on my 1 bag to pin.  It's Day 24 and been getting light for a week.  I was talking to the TMS guy and he said I should have them in the next week sometime.  My bag is still ahead of schedule, having been colonized fully for like a week.

The other bags are on Day 14 and looking real nice.  I was thinking about whether or not to mix, and I'm just not sure.  They're showing progress, but after mixing my last bag, it just worked out so good.  I'll probably mix 2 of the 3 and leave the other 1 to see what happens.  I'll try and get some pics up of those 3 a little later.  The fruiting bag still cannot be photographed good at all from the high condensation and substrate bits in the bag.

How well is your bag fruiting though? I have that 5lb bag of horse poo, and other ingredients, that is at 98%. I want to throw it in the RR FC I made, but I still live with my parents and do not want to get caught, so I think I will just have to fruit in the bag.

Well it's not fruiting yet, still waiting on pins.  Fruiting = shrooms growing.  Progress appears to be good tho.

The bag I mixed - still no pins.  Today is 4.5 wks, so I'm really hoping any day now, lol.

I will say this tho - the bags that I didn't mix are doing awesome at 3 wks right now.  Those are the ones w/ 4 separate inoc. points, and the entire tops of the substrate is white.  They're probably at like 75%.  I really looked at them up close, and the tops have rhizo's sticking up all over the place, and I totally feel they're gonna fruit better than the bag I did mix. 

I'm definitely against mixing now, cuz it slows things down for sure IMO.  I'll keep everyone updated tho, anytime now hopefully.

My 5lb bag is almost fully colonized...it's taking awhile, but I got a tms bag, and knocked that up a few days ago...with Burma I believe....I also knocked up 2 pf-tek jars with Burma, but my mother came home during the steaming process and had to abort. They do have growth and no contams and it has been 9 days for those jars I believe. 1 quart jar, 1 pint jar.

I have a homemade honey lc with successful PF Classic growth. (I don't remember the date and don't want to check the jar. lol)

From MS i always have to go 5-6 weeks for mature shrooms.I think your right at the edge.
