Obama's Income tax plan will save economy.

Ironic that a Democrat would be for lower income taxes for 95% of Americans, but I have always believed rightfully so that trickle down economics has never worked, will never work, and needs to be abolished.

My father would get a whopping 400 dollars back under McCains plan, and is in the upper five percent.

I however would make 800 back (based on the figures i read)

$400 isnt really too important in my fathers mind based on what he makes.

Those in the even higher percentage are groaning about paying more taxes, but wait....


Income tax is like Stalin coming in and collectivizing everyone, and makes the government fiscally irresponsible.

The more money you have, the more you can buy, save, invest, etc... the better the economy does.

We have the power in America to gradually abolish income tax altogether without having outrageous sales tax like some countries do, but we wouldnt be able to abolish this socialist nightmare called "income tax" by just saying no income tax.

The very rich will make more money because more people can afford to buy their items because they have more money.

Also cut spending to fight the pointless, counterproductive war in Iraq, cut funding for pork barrel projects, cut spending on bailing out mismanaged auto companies, let them file for chapter 11 like everyone else.

Income taxes aren't legal or constitutional to begin with, so they shouldn't be lowered, they should be abolished along with the "federal" reserve.

Wrong.  Income taxes are both legal AND constitutional.  This false information has been widely distributed by tax resistance books and websites, and has resulted in prosecution for those foolish enough to believe it.

You will be hard pressed to find an economist that agrees with your statement.  People keeping money is one of the worst thing that can possibly happen to an economy.  Money in motion is what grows an economy.  Stagnant money kills an economy.  People spending money, not holding onto money, is what is needed.

I think he is saying "keep their money" as in "keep their money so they can spend it" as opposed to giving it to the government.

I don't think it makes much difference though - the money will be spent regardless of if you get it or if the government gets it. Sure, you get more of a say in how it's spent, but the result is the same.

personally, i think he will continue the disastrous financial policies that have plagued us since 1913.

but if i do end up getting any "money" from the goverment (if you call it money), i will immediately convert it into physical gold (read: money).

An ounce of gold is what like $800 right now?
A paper bill weights approx a gram i believe.

$28 in Singles
$140 in Fives
$280 in Tens
$560 in Twenties

For him to have to have strong pockets, he would have to be carrying id say atleast 10-15 pounds on him. Most people I know don't carry over a hundred thousands dollars around in their wallets typically.

I like that video, I have not watched the whole movie though.

More people keeping their money means more money to spend. Stagnant money does kill the economy, but you CAN"T not spend money in some form or another.

a paycheck that would be 800 and some dollars that turns into 600, means i have two hundred less dollars to buy stuff with. Its just money going to the government. For what? no one tells me where its going, or why.

well all I said was more americans not giving unto Stalin will help.

Unfortunately, we would have problems if income tax was completely abolished, but gradually eliminating this plague and more and more people who KNOW income tax is a joke, is a good start.


Trickle down economics has failed in every society implementing it.

If you think no one is telling you, then you aren't listening. Allocation of taxpayer money is pretty much the primary role of government. So when they said, "$x will be spent on Y" do you just tune that out? Because they say that sort of thing all the time.

Yes, for some reason I thought carrying gold would be like carrying coins, but gold is worth much more. But my point still stands: using gold as money would be fucking inconvenient.
