You know what's funny is that i get all my required work done for the day and then some, leaving me with plenty of free time. That must really kill you? I work fast and i'm good at what i do.,,,aorgance?...no....confidence! Actually Sloth wasn't represented properly in your example. But i see where you're going. I would have to bet that what i do during the day (what little it is ya know..ha) is still more work than a majority on this site. I get paid for what i know not for how many ditch's i dig. BTW when i referred to working my ass off to get where i am i was including my college...6 years to be exact.....oh and i paid it with my own money...shocking

...which you spend surfing the internet. I wonder if your employer knows this? I'd guess he/she does not. I'd guess that if he/she found out, he/she would be looking to replace you with someone who was willing to put in all those extra hours and spend any spare time looking to do that extra bit more for the company, rather than wasting time (and company money) playing on the internet.

Tell you what: how about we do a little test. If you believe you do an adequate job, why not tell your employer how much time you've spent surfing the net this past week? If your theory holds true, he/she will not reprimand you. If my theory holds true, you'll be reprimanded and maybe even fired.

Invertigo, now maybe instead of rationalizing and trying to justify your sinfull behavior you should just cut it out.

And try to give thoughtful replys to the substance that is being discussed here instead of taking parts of comments out of context, twisting things, and making allegations about other shroomery.com members. MY GOD, will you please stop your whining? You seem more concerned with others lives than your own (which from what i read is pretty sad). I think, if i'm not mistaken, the point of this thread was taxes but you choose to change the subject by acting like a 3 year-old with the "i know you are but what am I" analysis. I'm not saying that innvertigo and rail_gun are completly innocent. On the contrary Rail_Gun has done a pretty good job trying to convince innvertigo he's a conservative when in fact nothing he's said is that of a conservative. Innvertigo, true to form, is doing what he does best by getting your patties in a bundle. While i would tend to agree with innvertigo on this topic of taxes i think the people doing the changing of subject are you and rail_gun.

Hehe, you sound like the one who's whining here. You claim you want the subject changed back to the original topic, but instead of doing so, you harp on about my post (which by the way is a legitimate post regarding Innvertigo's hypocrisy - which he laid himself open to).

You are one of those folks who won't ordinarily engage in discussion (presumably because you're unsure of your opinion's merit), so instead you just launch personal attacks every so often - that's cowardly. Your views about 'whining' and 'changing the subject' are irrelevant here. Subjects DO change when they become stale or if no-one has any points they'd like to make. That's how forums work. Similarly, people 'whining' (or complaining) are an aspect of forums that are necessary - without complaint, there'd be little to talk about. If you don't like it, you need to stop reading other people's opinion and perhaps develop some of your own.

I'm not going to be drawn in by such childish arguments. Grow up. You quite clearly have a serious personality problem that makes it difficult for you to accept that other people might have opinions different from yours. Not only that, but you obviously feel a strong need to insult others in an attempt to create some sense of self-worth. Finally, it seems you think that throwing personal insults is a valid substitute for discussion. Go bother someone who cares what you think. I'm not going to sink to your level.

Oh yeah, and just a quick tip: a spell check and a few grammar lessons might come in handy for your budding literary career. ;)

Now, perhaps you'd like to let out some more of that pent-up aggression. I advise you to seek professional help for that - an emotional therapist can do wonders for those deep seated problems that, judging by the tone of your posts, probably stem from some unhappiness in your childhood. Do you think it's wise conservatism to catch the modern taxation equivalant of a prospectors 'gold fever' and blow all your money on a wild weekend in Dodge City? Do you think it's wise conservatism to blow all the money (revinue surplus) in town (a giant tax cut and a 4% spending increase! with loopholes to allow unlimited spending on military development and emergencies) or to plan for the future, pay off your debts, and make sure you'll have enough money left over for your golden years? What the GOP is advocating is a LIBERAL SPENDING SPREE. What Senator George Voinovich (R Ohio) and I are advocating is RESPONSIBLE FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE POLICY.

I am a conservative republican. But that doesn't mean that I always toe the GOP party line. I was against the tax cut, the 'tax rebate checks (and yes I'll be getting one for $300), and against the massive 4% spending hike. I'm against deficit spending and for being fiscally responsible. I support a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. I'm pro business and I oppose big goverment. I'm a true fiscal conservative not just when it's convenient. I think I'm more fiscally conservative than most conservatives.

well, even though this whole post is now a joke, i figure ill stick my opinion in here anyway.
if i was fortunate enough to get a refund check, being a dependent makes that impossible even though i make some 3 grand a year, i would defintitely make sure to spend it even though i vehemently opposed the checks. after all, if i have to obey every assaine law and tax rule, why shouldnt i get something be able to do what i want with yet another government policy? of course, i would spend it on something that wouldnt support the economy and facist policies, like some fine herb. as for the tax systems, i say favor a consumption tax, after all, if you think about it, most things if you buy arnt nessecities (gas-get a bike, cable, internet, 3 cars, etc).
one more thing, giving loads of money back to the rich wont do a damn thing for the economy. as my jewish/socialist history teacher taught me, giving the rich more disposable income will be useless. after all, how much money can the rich pump back into the ecomomy when they purchase finely made (often importated) comfort items and after all, how many bentley and bottles of 7,000 dollar french wine is a billioniare going to purchase? wanna know why the GOP gave em the biggest rebates? sure they paid more, but that just gives them that much more money from their profoiteering to turn into soft money.
by the way, thanks for the person who posted that info on the new taxes for next year, that opened a whole new door on the situation. and very aggravating.
sorry for the nature of this post, its late, im pissed off and had a lot to think about that i wanted to get down while reading this post.
