Fucking Chipmunks

I have a huge chipmunk problem in my house. I am finding tiny chipmunk terds in my pantry, attic, dog dish, and other places. In the pantry they will tear anything open that is plastic.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when I went to check on my jars the other night and the polyfill had been ripped out of the top of 3 or 4 jars. So now I must get rid of them.

I was wondering what the best way to get rid of them is. I don't really wanna kill the little guys but it looks like I might have to resort to that. I was reading that trapping them and placing them in a new area will most likely result in their death anyways.

I am thinking about builing a swimming pool for them out of a five gallon buck with a diving board with peanut butter at the end. They walk out to get the peanut butter and they fall right in the water and drown. I have heard that they are too smart for traditional rat traps.

im sorry but i almost fell off my chair after i read this, for sum reason i had an image in my mind of sum crazy mushrooms growing dude getting raided my chipmunks putting up barricades like in a zombie movie to keep them out.

The place I work sells rodent repellent. It comes in a small burlap pouch filled w/ minty smelling herbs but you may need to find there entrance/exit for that to work.

lol at the diving board sceme, im sure a spring loaded rat trap will work just fine and be a bit more humane then drowning the cute buggers,  or you could buy a pellet gun and go rambo on Alvin, Theodore and the other annoying little fucker

we have those packs at work.. ins't it just a fancy name for rat poison?  who knows how painful or how long that stuff takes to work

Yeah finding the entrance exit is a problem. I have looked all over my house and I can't seem to find one. I have also read that those repellents don't work very well.

I also read about the sonic repellents, but I have a dog and I heard that it gets on their nerves. I also am sensitive to high frequency noises so It might even bother me.

This idea might work as they are all over my yard. I could walk out of my door at any time of the day and count at least 5 chipmunks and squirrels. The weird thing is that I have never seen or heard one in my house, and I get up at all times of the night because of the new baby.

I don't think they eat it I think it just repels them.
It's not terrible smelling but it is fairly strong.

You can always put a pack in w/ your jars, it wont keep them out of the house but the important stuff will be safe

I had a pet chipmunk. Don't hurt them, they're cool.

Just put some food out for them so that they don't need to come inside. Get a big bag of bird food with big seeds and they'll be satisfied. Gotta be getting cold now anyway, they should be hibernating.

And fix up the holes in your house. Chipmunks are a lot better than rats.

yes exactly.... feed them until they're dependent on you to survive, and then cut them off right as it starts getting cold out. That'll kill the fuckers!

I knew we could count on kidaihuan for the dumbest idea yet

Chipmunks store food for the winter, don't they? Cut them off too late and they'll be set anyway.

Or they'll move into your house for the winter.

Just feed the damn things outside and patch up the holes in your house.

That shit is hillarious. I have seen that video before and it makes me laugh every time.

Actually chipmunks and squirrels are far more destructive than mice. Chipmunks will chew on wires in your house, tear your insulation, and chew holes through wood. I have actually read that it is easier to get rid of mice than the other rodents.

I don't want to use poison at all, because I don't want one dying in my wall or attick and stinking it up.

I did have a cat, but I got rid of him. He was pissing all over my old house so when I was buying my own house I decided to get rid of him. I can't stand cat piss because it never goes away.

I am going to try the bucket and water idea this weekend. I'll report how it goes.
