There's still a chance.  For all my wild patches, there's little activity.  The weak frosts have taken a toll, but I'm beginning to see pinning activity in a few locations.  With the recent rain and a little manufactured rain, I think there's a chance for one more weak flush over the next week.

Is there a dance I should be doing?
Is there a prayer?
Some mushy mantra, mayhaps?

hmmmm

I'm thinking a modern, shroom-centric rendition of Ferlinghetti's "Big Sur Sun Sutra"....

It seems to be slowing my cardboard spawns growth, the mycellium is making small changes by the day.

So, I plan to head to a Rhododendron garden tomorrow, I figured it would be a good place to find some cyanas. Any thoughts? This'll be my first hunt and I understand the inherent risks and will be sure to post an ID here for confirmation of any possible psychedelic 'shrooooooom I find.

psillygirl i think it is very possible my friend and i met you about a week ago. we were picking, and you happened to tell us you'd picked all the ones in our area and pointed us to a spot where there might be some left. hahaha. if it was you that's funny if not whatever.

Weathers startin to look better, I dont think its to late either.
The temps are gonna hang around the 40's and 50's for the next week or so here and a good chance for a few showers.:thumbup:

The one and only patch I've found this season was raped :frown:

one area had mycelium all torn up and the other little area is barren, not even any pins.

So sad cyans....

It seems like Iv'e seen more dead and dying Cyanescens in the last couple of days than healthy specimens during the season....Oh well...

The picture with the tree trunk is notable in that Iv'e never seen rings of Cyanescens before.  There were a few other patches exactly like this...trees fully encircled by (dead) cyanescens.

I figure most people here know about the National Weather Service website and how useful it is...Anyway, if you don't:  Go to the NWS Seattle site (or wherever you are), navigate to your local location, and under the "current conditions" section they have a "3 day history" link, hit that and you get an hourly record of the temperature for the last 3 days...

If you're planning on going to the rhododendron garden in Portland, I wouldn't bother. I walked through there a week ago and found a whole lot of jack shit. It's a beautiful walk though.

If you do find anything or if that IS the garden you're going to PM me...
