This was one patch I found today. They were all half dry by the time I got to them. We need rain.

Finally I got to take some habitat shots!! These were in dune grass on the Oregon coast. Pretty much the same habitat you might find azures in.

This cluster was growing directly off partially buried wood. Someone will be psyched in a week or two when they find that!

This is why it takes patience to find them in dune grass.

Here is the largest one I found...about 5 cm in diameter!

Another playing hide & seek...

The Magic Mushroom [Re: hoopershroomer]
    #9306802 -

"A mushroom bursts in full bloom,
like a flower from the red fire
of the round Earth under our feet
for what grows underground is found.

Abound, the hound searches for truffles
and the humans' searches for giggles
as a smile squiggles out from your lips
just from the thought of such a search
for such a small little mushroom
the life that needs no light
Might I live for what is right." - martinez

I'm very confident they are all cyans although I don't have any experience with stuntzii except what I've seen here on the shroomery.

Growing up through big clumps of grass definitely affects their shape. Stems can be really long and sometimes get kinked or twisted while trying to push the cap up through the grass. Caps can get bound down by the long horizontal blades of grass causing tears and other strange shapes. Sometimes it's impossible to extract them from the grass without them getting shredded.

I happened to stumble upon the biggest patch/area of cyans I ever have just walking around. There must've been 5-6 pounds growing. Sorry no pics, but I picked about 3 pounds of cyans today is was fucking proper
