Venison Steaks
    #9242770 -

I have a venison steak thawing in the fridge, I have no idea where the meat came from on the deer, and all the packaging says is deer steak.
I have to cook this tonight for dinner and was wondering what some of the best ways to cook it would be.
I was thinking about frying it up with some adobo, black pepper and onions.
I havent made any kind of game in many years and I dont want to screw this up, as I probably wont get this again for a while.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
:peace:

I find the best way for me is to coat your "steaks" in flour with your choice of season salt and black pepper mixed in

fry it up in butter

"deer cookies"

Treat it like you would beef.
If its already been cut in to steaks, I'm assuming that it has already been properly prepared and soaked to remove the gamey taste.
Still, I would marinate the meat overnight in you choice of liquid, and prepare in any way you would a normal steak.

Gotta love deer; I may go on a little hunting trip soon myself

Hot Pocket, you should definately ask him how they were made.
That sounds like it might be good.

1 lb. Venison Tenderloin steaks, sliced 1/2" thick
1 Tsp. Lawry's Season Salt
1/4 cup olive oil
12 oz. sliced fresh mushrooms
1 large onion, sliced
1 green pepper, cut into chunks
1 red pepper, cut into chunks
1/4 cup soy sauce  Instructions

Sprinkle venison with Lawry's season salt and set aside. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add mushrooms and onion and stir fry until onion is transparent. Add red and green pepper and stir fry for two minutes. Drop tenderloin slices into hot skillet and fry quickly just until juices come to the top of meat. Turn and fry 1 minute more. Add soy sauce, reduce heat to medium and cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Especially tasty served with red beans and rice, or white and wild rice.

Try This

Thanks OM
I have one steak left so I might give that a shot.
Both of those recipes sound delicious.
