Opinions of the pf-TEK method and shotgun terrarium
    #9218327 -

I'm a beginner and this is my first time growing and I've been doing research and asking questions with people I know and I get mixed opinions about the pf-tek and shotgun methods. Some people say that it works great and others say that I should go different routes.

Just wondering if I can get any input from everyone here.

To each his own....All of the methods in the mushroom cultivation archive work fine....I would say try out as many methods as you can....  To find out which one works best for you.....

I would do one pf tek grow. If you have a pc go to popcorn or wbs after that if you save a little bit of your spores from your first grow i mean even a few cc's you can nock up some grain and g2g.

if you do the proper reading you can skip the pf tek and go straight to grains and bulk as i did. my first grow ever yeilded two and a half dry ounces. but i truely put in two months of reading teks and other cultivation info and searched the fuck out of the cultivation forum threads on topics such as:wbs-bulk-coir-pc-lc-casing. and read the cultivation faq for basic info growth conditions ect. If you read and read you may end up feeling as confident as i was to skip the pf tek. if you are in a hurry, which this hobby shouldnt be rushed, just go with the pf tek.

well i want to try and get the hang of things before i venture out into something more advanced. I am really interested in learning other ways to do things (i.e. however people grow in what looks like big foil pans) but i cant find the teks for anything other than brown rice flour and jars.

I'm pretty sure im prob just looking in the wrong spot or not hard enough but i cant find the other teks that people talk about.

how would i sterilize it then, i guess its in a different container. like i said im having a hard time finding different methodes, and what i can find i dont understand the terms and things.

I think im still too green to all this and ill just have to learn as i go, unless someone wants to be my mentor lol.

Don't learn as you go, learn before as much as you can. I am open on pm for questions on the pf tek, feel free to hit me up.

you can use the pf tek and spawn your cakes to bulk coir in trays like you sound interested in. master the pf tek and fruiting your fully colonized cakes. then start spawning them to a bulk substrate like coco coir- in bulk trays. grains like wbs(wild bird seed) and rye need a pressure cooker to sterilize. only the pf tek uses steem in a pot

knowledge is power. If you stay sterile these things grow like weeds. I agree also that if you have a pressure cooker and enough knowledge go straight to grain. there are alot of teks on here.

Well I don't own a PC, and I haven't had any contams with WBS.

I just steam them for 2 hours.

Not saying a PC isn't better and when I get the money I will buy one, But It is possible to sterilize WBS without a PC.

Try the PF tek 1st.  If you want things easier, get some Mycobags.

Shotgun is by far the ultimate device ever thought of by rabbits, nothing else bar a automated greenhouse can give results as the shotgun can...... if someone says otherwise, show me proven evidence.

Pf tek is also by far the best easy route for yourself follow the tek exactly don't listen to anyone bar the video RR posted and you will have success without fail.
